I heard he hasn’t trained all week, but I wouldn't read much into that either

Depends on the recovery timeline post surgery. No point delaying the surgery if it then interrupts his next pre season.I would be surprised if we made a surgery decision in the near future. No benefit to the short or long term. Even if he got it now it would almost certainly rule him out for the season. Can afford to wait unless we are 100% confident he needs it.
Unsurprised by any of that. Folks expecting certainty on his type of injury are going to be disappointed. He could be good to go Week 4, but out of action Week 5 if he pulls up sore. It's just the nature of nerve-related back injuries and it can take years to fully recover (if at all).If what I am told is true we are just being incredibly cautious. Hasn't had an issue all pre season but pulled up sore after some tough practice matches.
It's not debilitating, just sore and has taken longer to improve than hoped. It is improving
He is running, doing exercises etc but just NO contact.I am told he simply won't play until 100%. That may be next round or a month but he won't play until they are sure he is fully recovered. We are also looking to other experts like we did with Doc's knee. Working on core strength and different muscles to strengthen area
As much as I want him to see back I am happy to wait a few more weeks so he is fine for rest of the year. It's a long year and we should beat North, Freo etc without him
great info but if you're in the biz, you might keep an eye on releasing this sort of personal stuff.......Unsurprised by any of that. Can't speak re: Walsh but I know the club utilises Keiser clinics for long-term rehab/strength building for back-related problems. In the 18 months I've been training with them, I've seen a bunch of the playing group at my local clinic. Hewett was there a few weeks ago. Doc and Gov have been in there fairly regularly as well.
He very well could have but I wasn't able to hear very well.Did Diesel mention anything about Weits & Martins return?
90% of the media commentary around Walsh is absolute nonsense and guesswork no doubt.
Not that they will admit that when he makes a miraculous recovery from the doom and gloom.
I am sure Mitch Cleary saying “someone at Carlton” told him that Sam Walsh is running like an old man is BS as well.
No current season stats available
You heard it from his mouth or not firsthand?Walsh likely to play after the bye
Source: Sam Walsh himself
l would suggest very little chance of that occurring.Walsh likely to play after the bye

Love the rumour, of course, but 'after the bye' does extend a long way into the futureWalsh likely to play after the bye

Round 2 byeLove the rumour, of course, but 'after the bye' does extend a long way into the future
All good. I'm a client there. It's not exactly a covert thing as you could walk past most days and spot a footy player thru the windows rehabbing next to an 80 year old grannie....or Tim Watson.great info but if you're in the biz, you might keep an eye on releasing this sort of personal stuff.......
Walsh will play when he’s ready to play.
Gnashing teeth here won’t help or change anything …
