* would like to add that Walsh was very sore after the game too (understandable), I wonder if he or more likely Kennedy are rested for Cerra next week.

Was that right ankle? When he was rundown from behind he pulled his sock back to have a look and didn’t look great but he played out the game so thought nothing of it

People are looking for reasons for our shocking injury run, blaming Russell, or recruiting injury prone players, or a curse, or just plain bad luck.
It is none of those things.
The blame for our horrific injury run falls squarely on these:

Oh right. So you're deeply superstitous...

And here I was trying to have a logical, reasoned discussion about rule/law interpretations!

Leave you to it

IIRC now that you've mentioned it both his ankles were pretty swollen in the rooms, but you've brought up a good point.

Walsh came back so quickly from his ankle. Kennedy got a rest but has been pounded more than most in bruising tackles, particular the last few games. Cripps and Hewitt both came back fairly quickly too. We don’t really have the luxury of it with the logjam at our area of the ladder but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some ‘general soreness’ omissions in the coming weeks. Dow, Setters, and Hayes might get a run or two. Maybe even Fog as a pure mid.

Been informed that Phips season is over with stress fractures in his foot.
Philp's gutted because he only wants a decent run to prove himself.
Club's gutted because they have high raps for the kid and expect him to be a long term star.
That’s disappointing for the kid, really has had a terrible time with the injuries into a short career so far…

Rest up Philpy! Reckon he's worthwhile retaining regardless even if only as a rookie worst case. Has shown some ability in the VFL. Must be a stressful time in a young footballers life, feel for him.

Yet another prospect with recurrent injuries so early in his career, hate to see it...
Hopefully next year brings greater things for Philpy.
They've been different and unrelated injuries though, right?
Foot stress fracture, broken ribs, the groin injury. Anything else?
It's not like he's having a repeat of previous setbacks like others on the list who have repeated hamstring/calf/back/knee issues.

Could count on one hand the draftees who have had an uninterrupted run at it over the last 5-6 years. Just ridiculous

Bad news for Philp though not a massive issue for the team as we have a bit of coverage in his position (and he was well behind some others).

Hopefully he can recover and get a full preseason in. Next year is really a make or break year for him. Fingers crossed he comes good and gets a clean run at it.

Was going to say the same thing, he’s had an array of injuries, the groin complaint was the one that lingered & held him back the longest (AR rehabbing).
