Was going to say the same thing, he’s had an array of injuries, the groin complaint was the one that lingered & held him back the longest (AR rehabbing).

Indeed, CJMB, my complaint was mainly an exasperation at the variety of injuries he's had in such a short time. His career is far from over, but needs a clear run at it next year.

Sure does. Needs to work on the fumbles however he can whilst incapacitated from playing - should be carrying a ball around with him at all times.

Shame for Philp but we should be getting a large chunk of the injury list back in some form in the next fortnight (post VFL bye).
Cerra, McGovern, Pittonet, Weitering, Martin and possibly Ed.

Hopefully some positive news on Williams and Cuningham soon too.

Was that right ankle? When he was rundown from behind he pulled his sock back to have a look and didn’t look great but he played out the game so thought nothing of it

The way he looked at the iside of his right ankle after that tackle makes me nervous. Was this the same ankle for his syndesmosis?

Injury news: Round 16

Here's where things stand from an injury perspective leading into Round 16.

Jordan Boyd	Foot	Scans confirmed an acute fracture in his foot which occurred in a marking contest. Will be out for an extended period but is a chance to be available late in season. (Update: 27 June)
Adam Cerra	Hamstring	Expected to train fully this week. Will be a test to play. (Update: 27 June)
David Cuningham	Knee	Has been restricted in his training loads for a number of weeks due to calf tightness. Current focus is on running program and light skills: plan is to have him available late in season. (Update: 30 May)
Ed Curnow	Calf	Returns to the ball program this week. Availability will be determined at how quickly he adapts to skills program in coming weeks. (Update: 14 June)
Sam Durdin	Knee	Recovering really well and, at this stage, is expected to be back in the next 2-3 weeks. (Update: 27 June)
Lachie Fogarty	Back	Was withdrawn from extended squad due to back stiffness. Will be a test to play this week. (Update: 27 June)
Caleb Marchbank	Knee	Further specialist consultation confirmed a meniscus tear, which led to surgery. Expected to be available in 6-8 weeks. (Update: 14 June)
Jack Martin	Calf	Will be a test to play this week. (Update: 27 June)
Oscar McDonald	Back	Was placed on the Inactive list last week after being ruled out for the season with a back stress fracture. (Update: 30 May)
Mitch McGovern	Hamstring	Has commenced full training. Currently aiming for a return to some level of football at Round 18. (Update: 27 June)
Matt Owies	Calf	Was a late out after experiencing calf tightness in the warm-up. Will be a test to play this week. (Update: 27 June)
Luke Parks	Foot	Still in a moon boot as he continues to recover from a bone stress injury. He will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. (Update: 27 June)
Sam Philp	Foot	Withdrawn from the VFL game after experiencing foot soreness. Has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot as well as a plantar fasciitis issue. Will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. (Update: 27 June)
Marc Pittonet	Knee	Will look to increase his training loads in the next couple of weeks. How he responds to training loads will determine his return to play. (Update: 27 June)
Jacob Weitering	AC joint	At this stage is expected to miss one more week. (Update: 27 June)
Zac Williams	Calf	Started his running program last week. Will now look to increase his running loads ahead of a return to training. (Update: 27 June)

I'm guessing this relates to escalation in training loads under a new regime? Incredibly annoying, no other teams appear to have this issue.

We've had a horrid run with injuries over the last 5 or so years. But have we ever had 16 on the injury list at one time - some terrible luck
