Looked like a rolled ankle at the ground, happened fairly close to me, but would like some additional footage to properly assess.
If it is just a rolled ankle would he be OK for next week ?

Owies was walking completely fine after the game with just a compression bandage on his calf.

Boyd slightly limping in the rooms but with no strapping/boot/crutches.

Kennedy also limping pretty badly but I'm guessing just soreness.

Chatted to a few of the injured boys - Cerra and Weiters are hoping for next week, Pitto expected the week after, Gov almost in full training and hoping to return to VFL in the next fortnight, Sam Durdin has recovered surpassingly well from last week and is a chance to return in the next 2-3 weeks.

That’s the most thorough injury report ever posted

You could teach the club a thing or 2!!!

At what number of injuries can luck stop?

I calculated our injury list over the last 10 years against all available AFL/VFL/professional sports history.

The odds of us having this many injuries more than average is exactly 1 in a John Elliot Curse...

Thanks mate haha. I sometimes spend a bit of time around the club and in the rooms, so I try to get some scoop from the players!

* would like to add that Walsh was very sore after the game too (understandable), I wonder if he or more likely Kennedy are rested for Cerra next week.

I was only saying during the last quarter that we may actually get through a game with no injuries.

They/we never learn...

It would appear that reinforcements may perhaps be on the way in the coming weeks:

1 week or so: Cerra (straight AFL), Weitering (straight AFL), Martin (VFL)
2 weeks or so: Pittonet (straight AFL, maybe 1 week VFL at most), McGovern (VFL), E Curnow (VFL)
3 weeks or so: Durdin (VFL)
4 weeks or so: Cuningham (VFL)
5 weeks or so: Marchbank (VFL), Williams (VFL), Parks (VFL)

People are looking for reasons for our shocking injury run, blaming Russell, or recruiting injury prone players, or a curse, or just plain bad luck.
It is none of those things.
The blame for our horrific injury run falls squarely on these:

By then we should also have Pitto back so we will be pretty close to full strength for the run home.

We will have damn close to a full list back in 5 or 6 weeks. And with some luck they will be on the Field in September.

This is my preferred option too.

We have the luxury of hopefully giving him 60% game time against West Coast, then 70% against Geelong.

Run it like Gawn and Jackson.
Pittonet ain’t Gawn or Jackson. Can’t wait for us to play both but we can’t carry pittonet while he gets fit, he’s not versatile enough to spend long periods forward. We’d basically be a man down on the bench

It'd be Pittonet ~65-70% game time, with 100% of that time in the ruck. TDK 80% game time with 50% of that time in the ruck, 50% floating as the extra tall.

The key will be effectively working TDK back into the forward rotation, using him and Harry as the option down the line when needed, whilst keeping Charlie isolated deep, and then deploying him a kick behind the play when needed to stem the momentum.

When they played together:

Round 1:
Pittonet 102/122 mins (84%), 22 CBAs, 44 ruck contests. TDK 100/122 mins (82%), 7 CBAs, 20 ruck contests.

Round 2:
Pittonet 106/126 mins (84%), 24 CBAs, 56 ruck contests. TDK 86/126 mins (68%), 9 CBAs, 24 ruck contests.

Round 3:
Pittonet 89/119 mins (75%), 21 CBAs, 49 ruck contests. TDK 97/119 mins (82%), 5 CBAs, 28 ruck contests.

TDK struggled being effective as the extra tall early in the year, but now that he has string of games and some confidence marking the ball, hopefully he'll be much better.
