Martin has another year, we won't pay him out. It’s just ridiculous every injury report to see Marchbank and Martins name.
Just bite the bullet and delist them at years end.

Martin has another year, we won't pay him out.
Why wouldn't you, if he doesn't play most of the time and costs a lot resource-wise, with physios/rehab work etc. Perhaps another kid in the draft is worth considering. But it is round 3 and there still a lot of football to play out this year, let's hope he can get fit and find form. Charlie and Doc were both looking pretty dire not too long ago, players can turn around quicklyMartin has another year, we won't pay him out.
wut? They are when you stuff all strength and conditioning training .
as do I, yet he still remains outside any future plans I envisage for the club - jack not the baby....His little baby has gorgeous hair
I don’t think anyone has quite “given up on Martin yet”.I have to say, I haven't quite given up on Martin yet, haven't quite let him go.
I can see a reality where we play in the GF this year (gasp, I know)...
Jack's the kind of role/specialty player we will need to snatch one. We need to stop thinking about him as a starting 18 player - he's a pinch-hitter, off the pine.
From what I can see he's a burst player absolutely capable of a cameo that could tip a tight contest our way.
It could be a 5 minute burst in the middle or up forward. (hoping his calves can withstand it).
Others will need to do the heavy lifting - Martin will never be that guy.
Let's see him for what he is & extract his value off the bench.
Me too. Add Marchy and Cunners to that list. Can't recall the last time I factored Martin into our future strategies.
If you read this thread there’s plenty who’ve given up on Martin.I don’t think anyone has quite “given up on Martin yet”.
Jack has spent his career as “a generational talent”. Sought after at the draft, taken as a priority pick. His natural talent got him just so far, and he has always been “potential” with some breath taking cameos.
His physical makeup with a propensity for soft tissue issues has demanded attention to detail and diligence in his preparation. Reportedly and seemingly, from limit information available to the public he has not traditionally done the work. He is now at the stage where his body is compromised and perhaps he does not have the capacity to reach his “promised” levels.
Similar to Juddy, he has gone from a sublime talent to being a more physical on field performer, less reliant on skill set and more on sheer will. A change of output has ensued. He absolutely still has the tools to be a best 22 player, but he has to maximise his performance. He needs to reach new levels and improve his durability. We are moving past cameos.
I have not written Jack off, but equally would not be amazed if we chose to trade cheaply or pay him out at season’s end. Come on Jack, give us a year or two of your undoubted talents and contribute to an ultimate prize for your team.
I'm the same. I've often thought that Martin would be our key contender to be our 'Tom Boyd' story. If he did nothing else at his time at the Blues expect be our best player in a finals series and snag us a premiership, then it is all worth it.I have to say, I haven't quite given up on Martin yet, haven't quite let him go.

Shame to read about Sam Durdin, hoping he has a quick recovery
Once we get Hewett and Walsh back, that list isn't looking 'too' bad.
The rest are really depth. Martin/Cottrell/Marchbank/Cuningham may all feature at some point but are realistically depth.
Slowly getting them back isn't as big an issue. Taking 6 points so far has helped a lot.

Jack Martin is no longer on big coin. Heavily front loaded. It’s frustrating having so many injury prone players on our list and if they’re on big money(JM)

Finally this season I’ve come to my senses that he’ll be a forever teaser from his past undoubted talents, continual calf/soft tissue injuries for someone who has just turned 28yrs who’s body just seems like it can’t stand up to the demands of the game anymore…Can't recall the last time I factored Martin into our future strategies.
Let's just cut to the chase.I don’t think anyone has quite “given up on Martin yet”.

Jarrod Waite manual his referenceLet's just cut to the chase.
From what I've heard, he doesn't look after his body and leaves lots of prep work undone.

They could.A fit Martin, DC & Cotters could all present to make a better functioning forward line.

Shame, for such an extremely talented player, 38 games into his fourth season with us has red flag all over it unfortunately…
Marchbank as well, all undoubted talents we haven’t had anywhere near the returns we would have hoped…Unfortunately similar story with Gov and Williams.
3 big recruits who just haven't given us anywhere near the return we'd hope for...all 3 constantly injured.
Some people are constantly lucky and others the opposite. I'm not a believer in luck.Marchbank as well, all undoubted talents we haven’t had anywhere near the returns we would have hoped…
Williams knee very unlucky, McGovern fingers crossed he stays on the park…
