Lol... All over the shop. Yesterday Cal says "no chance", today "back in the mix"...

I know it's for clicks, but still....
Barrett had been saying Pies all of last week and then switched to Carlton yesterday. Maybe something happened recently to change their minds but I still struggle to see what offer we could put up Port would accept whilst maintaining at least a first in this draft

A club with useless late picks that would give one to us for the certainty of picking him up in the draft period, perhaps?

Can't imagine it'd be anything better than pick 50. But that's fine for us, helps with points.

I understand it from our POV, a pick even in the 60s will come in and we can use it on the Campo boys

But if that club and Owies agree to a contract, he could get their as a DFA, supposedly

That club could then trade that pick for futures, etc

Trying to envisage how the club would be ATM. All officials staying in their lanes? Or a frantic melee of “factions” wanting things to go their way?

Wright coming in is sure to evoke some posturing…

It was mooted Port wanting a top 10 pick for him (can't remember where it was published), but now seeing what Dees are paying for pick 9, I feel much better about that situation - if we went for it, we'd have to sell the whole farm.

Personally I think Houston will end up staying at Port.

Dan Rioli is going to get traded for 6, and Richmond giving GC a shot ton of points, and everyone is going to wonder why GC would do that while they pick up their academy kids and trade for future picks to cover the next batch

So many times Owies marked the ball this/last season & I reminded myself he’s a great set shot - and he delivered.

I’ll miss that security.

Our F50 efficiency problem is twofold;

1. How we transition & deliver the ball
2. The two-dimensional nature of our forward group - per Charles & H.

It could be the coaching group seeks a multi-dimensional forward line spreading Owies 30 goals across a wider group - making us less predictable & more dynamic.
So many times I saw him shunt the ball 5m away from himself when trying to bend over and pick it up. 🤷🏼‍♂️

We still have Durdin Moir Motlop Fogarty Docherty Cottrell Fantasia Boyd that can all easily play that role.

Durdin - almost in the injury prone category
Moir - played 2 quarters of AFL - is also 187cm tall. Surely he replaces Kennedy (188cm).
Motlop - almost in the injury prone category
Fogarty - has already peaked. Will never be a massive goal kicker.
Doc - should have retired
Cottrell - wing is his best position
Fantasia - next season will be his last surely
Boyd - never seen him in the forward line. Never kicked a goal in the AFL.

That's a nice bit of gaslighting..... you know as well as me that Owies' pathway was entirely different to most and that he's done remarkably well to 'catch up' to the vast majority of others who played footy right through their teenage years....

Mots - the jury's still out. His best is terrific, problem is his worst is lamentable....

Gaslighting?
It's facts.

List management isn't about next week. It's about the next 3-5 years and beyond.

If the jury's out on Motlop, seems like they're back in on Owies...

Houston was always in play. Getting pick 14 has made Collingwood now sweat.
Pick 13 isn't enough to get it done as we trump them with pick 12 now.
It will come down to either Owies (probably) or Kennedy being part of the deal.
or Owies and/or MK get traded elsewhere (it needn't be to Port...).

Sounds like Owies might get traded today?

If it's a pick that late (60s), there won't really be a futures market now that the 4th round will have no points
