Totally agree. It's beyond farcical how his game has been allowed to spiral like this.

The thing that boggles my mind the most about this team is how good Weitering and Jones are. Jones being outmarked ONCE in over 100 one-on-ones, Weitering an absolute beast, and we still put up performances like this.

But imagine if those two WEREN'T there? That is why this is on the coach, he's been propped up (if 8 wins can be called propped up) by having two star intercept defenders saving the day time and again.

This is exactly my view - we also have Harry up forward basically saving our arse as well - and there are plenty like this (Martin, Silvagni etc)

My concern from a long time ago, is once you realize Teague is not the man for the job - what damage has he been doing ?

Now I want to see how we play under a new coach and re-assess our list. (Barring the obvious).

But they are there. That is like saying imagine if Richmond did not have Dusty and Cotchin or Geelong did not have Dangerfield and Selwood. The coaching is not perfect i agree but how the hell do assistant coaches outlast a senior coach and they might outlast 2 senior coaches. That in itself is ridiculous. How can a senior coach get sacked but then keep assistants on. Who is responsible for that decision. Brad Lloyd the phantom where the hell is he? How come we never replaced Neil Craig when he left? Why did it take 5 years to get a good development coach? All those decisions are mind boggling and they all go back to 1 place and that is the board. The system at Carlton is set up for instant failure and has been for a long time. But any review always stops short of the people responsible for all those bad decisions. This review is just to throw attention away from them as usual. Teague is not perfect by no means but those assistants were already proven failures before Teague even got the head coaching job.
Yeah other clubs have them to but all those examples are of clubs in the top 4, or recent premierships. Where those stars pull them through bad days. Ours pull us through or we lose. Every game.

Completely right about the assistants. Should've been cleared out and reset.

Can second that bit of mail on Clarko...I've also heard from someone who played under 3 flags for Clarko he'll sit out next year. I can't see any option other than Ross the Boss.
Only good news i have seen today.

Wow...

Ross the boss, come on down!

I'm thinking of game styles, and passion, and a coach who is willing to work with others. I don't mind some of the things Ross says in analysing play but he's got some serious flaws himself. I'm actually warming to the idea of Brad Scott.

The way Cripps goes about his game is such a disappointment. He will run into the opposition player on purpose as if to show how big and strong he is, while taking on contact he is off-balance and majority of the time his handballs are ineffective, turnovers or go to one of our players who is already under pressure themselves. Yes, it looks pretty impressive what he did to Rowell, taking him on shrugging him off and delivering to Honey. But that was one time it worked out compared to how many times he's stuffed it up?

What happened to taking the first option with a well-directed handball. For some reason he thinks he has to take on the opposition tackler every single time.

Cripps, believe or not needs strong leadership, to deflate his big head and bring him back to earth. A strong coach and losing the captain tag will help. By 2025 he will be a brownlow medallist

i like the idea of Ross coming in as director of coaching keeping Teague. Teague has brought a better offence but we struggle defensively put those two together as long as they work together and can find a game plan that works both ways could work out great. Pretty much the oposite of what Sydney have done with bring in Don Pyke to improve their offense. We all want the best for CFC here and I see that as one of the best outcomes. Change some assistants to bring in some new voices and that could work

No thanks. Think the issues with Teague are more than just getting help to tweek a non existent game plan.

Greg Williams said as much last year, said he loves contact too much and it’s hurting his ability to dominate games.

Who knows, Teague might have been a chance if he came in under a good Head of Footy, who put good support around him.
Unfortunately, we'll never know. He's toxic now. Has to go.

We also don't have a playing list that compares to theirs, not in level of talent or the number of hard working players they have. We are still a fair way off being a top 4 team.

Disagree heavily. Our list on talent is better than most. The hard work and attitude is cultural and most will follow a good coach who provides framework for that culture, the others will be cycled out in a very short time frame.

I'm hoping that Brad Scott is in play too, really don't want Clarkson or Lyon.
