Spot on, they either match Geelong and trade him for two first's or a first and a player. That leaves them with their own first, Williams compo right after it and then one or two more first's from Geelong. Watch for them to go hard at moving up the order for whatever of the key forwards are left after Adelaide pick one of them.
Could definitely tempt North for pick 2, in a rebuild they may go quantity over quality. Pick 2 for two of the firsts GWS will have and a third or something.

They don't have their own first this year...

And so the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer....

Such is FA.

We did the right thing by going full rebuild, strong internal culture, tight group. It's the only way to ward off top clubs and avoid being a simple "feeder" club.

Yep and we are well on our way to becoming 'the rich'...despite not playing finals for years we are already getting nominations from high calibre players like Martin/Papley/Saad/Williams. Lots of other supporters would be asking how come so many players want to go to Carlton & Geelong?

Can you imagine what it will be like when we're actually a top 4 team?? I can absolutely see us being able to pay our entire list unders similar to Geelong and offer success, a great culture and playing at a proud, big VIC club.

Not a rumour but a strong prediction: Gary Rohan will not be at the cattery next year.

Is there a 20% discount for matching a bid for an academy player?
If short, isn’t it deducted from the equivalent pick next year? (Like Fremantle’s first round pick this year which falls after our pick)
Yes and Yes exactly like the Freo situation last year, I’d completely forgot about factoring that in... The 20% discount needs to go, clubs already have a massive advantage being able too choose and select them if wanted that’s more than enough for a guaranteed top end talent...

Because of Jeremy Comeran and cap space?

It is going, from next year
There's also a maximum deficit that can be carried fwd

Big Footy have implemented some weird code where if you mention a players full name you get some list of stats that's takes up huge real estate on the App that you have to scroll and scroll through. How annoying!

So until that is fixed can we all as a group agree to call players by their Cricket 04 Names.

I.e I'm really excited that Zach William is joining us and Adem Sadd
POTY surely

Because of Jeremy Cameron and cap space?

I love the kid but why would we need another HBFer
Yeah i exactly know what your saying and am well aware of the players we have available to play across that position but this kid would come in and be a best 22 lock either half back or on a wing he’s like bringing in a 20yr Heath Shaw quick skilled beautifully balanced attacking player, he’s a serious upgrade on Newman and Newnes who are handy players and no more playing SPS down there as well...

On what basis do you think this? I mean, he's not been at all consistent this year (or, you know often throughout his career) but only a year ago he had a run of 8 games in which he kicked 3, 2, 2, 4, 4, 1, 1, 3 (rounds 2-9, 2019). You'd have thought they'd keep him around, given they've a lot of good honest B-/B+ quality players and very little by way of flash.
