Would not complain at all if we got Bucks, I’ve met him a few times and it’s hard not to love him when you speak him.

Something about him makes you want to run through a brick wall… in the good way.

We could do a lot worse than Bucks, plus he can actually coach…

Ross Lyon should be given the gig with a clause in his contract saying that it will be terminated if the team does not make finals in 2022 however if it does then he gets to fill out the remainder of contract for its full 3 year term but if he doesn't get carlton over the line with a premiership after his 3rd year ..the job gets handed out to someone else ..
That is wild. Mans will be living in paranoia 365 days a year.

Who was responsible for sacking playfair who decided Teague needed less not more support
Wouldn’t have made much difference but we where willing to pay Clarko what 1.5 to 2 million
No clue what Teague is on but I’m guessing his and playfairs wage would be well below that
So somewhere penny pinching bottom line has come before performance and football success
Who ever made that decision has there priority’s wrong
The story that the CEO has done so well financially we can now afford a coaching department looks inept to me
Then pay Worsfold for optics over substance to cover you’re tracks
The planning and foresight seems lacking doesn’t fill me with confidence moving forward
Call me a conspiracy theorist .. think most seen our sweet spot coming from when cripps hit 26 and rest of gang 24 below . This year could of been teague year to grow with the group / he can't deliver . Club now has money to spend on football department so says put the money behind teague or someone else . Honestly from 66 game rebuild did anyone see Bolton with a cup - after that we were never going to have enough older players to lead us to a flag. Cripp 30 rest 27 and below was always the only option

No matter what people say Ross is a proven leader of men - where they follow him to is another question .. he knows how to In still belief ..
he will do it again if given a chance we have four to five years to hit the holy grail .. as for game plan etc that is also evolved with staff but having a group believe and follow is the crux of it ..

No it’s not.

Ross Lyon has coached 2 AFL Clubs for a total of 14 years - Buckley 1 club 10 years.

Ross Lyon has been an assistant at 3 clubs (Richmond, Carlton, Sydney) - Buckley 1 club

Ross Lyon has coached VFL - Buckley Hasnt

Ross Lyon has been an assistant under - Robert Walls, David Parkin, Wayne Brittan, Denis Pagan & Paul Roos, over a decade - Buckley under Mick Malthouse (2 years)

That’s hardly about the same.

Ross Lyon has experienced multiple different cultures, clubs and has that experience to draw on. Buckley? Has experienced Collingwood

Whether anyone noticed (which i highly doubt, I mean did you read some of the over the top reactions last night), is irrelevant. He is the CEO, he is along with Sayers, charged with working through the 20 odd points of the review, and may still lose his job as well.
The 'optics' would have been far worse if he didn't front up.
Anyway, we can agree to disagree.

Mate please. You clearly aren’t reading enough into it!

Love it. Love black boots. I have been saying this for a long time. I always wore black boots. Was tough to find them when I finished up playing. Now with a young bloke playing it is even harder.
Should sign a deal with Adidas and all wear copa's
And World Cup 82’s. The best.

Everyone is asking Bucks or Lyon, when I'm expecting Ross & Nathan could form a team. Ross as head coach and Nathan as Senior Assistant.

Surround those two with attacking mindset line coaches and you've got the making of a strong coaching panel.

Nathan isn't going to be a senior assistant after spending practically a decade in the top role.

Wishful thinking.

I can see a Voss doing it with the view that he would get the reins when Ross retires after 3 to 5 seasons.

It has been reported multiple times. Unless someone provides evidence that it wasn’t the case, or if Teague in the future says otherwise I’ll continue assuming that is the case.

I have only seen one article, which has been regurgitated a number of times

"Reportedly"

As opposed to "personal opinion "

Someone already put up a link to an article in The Age where Teague reportedly refused a change of assistants not once but twice.
Let's not continue to assume our former coach had his sh*t together and did his job well.

Nice, loyal guy.
Poor head coach.
Let's just move on.

Again, I have only seen one media article, should we take it as fact

Although it has to be pointed out that Liam Jones was completely lost and confused by the game plan.

There are players not mentioned there who also have an appetite for the contest of course.

I have been concerned for 12 months, but this has nothing to do with claims of a mass exodus

This is very possible.

On the flip side, I'm sure they really like the former coach, by all reports he's a fantastic person.
But these players all came in to a poorly performing club with factions, dissension, poor standards, poor club culture and a reputation for being rubbish and weak.

What the hell would these players know about what it takes to be part of a successful football team in the AFL?
I wouldn't be looking to any of them for advice or their opinion.

Again, this isn't responding to the claims of a mass exodus

Appetite for the contest….only thing about contest I gathered was that we needed to be better in the contest, contest better and got beaten in the contest, inside and out.
Courtesy of presser commentary.

As a team, absolutely

Not having a pot at the ITKs as I am truly surprised a lot of their info has been scratchy ATM .... I think this is a good thing, ship seems to be a lot tighter than it has been, which considering we are going through huge upheaval is probably a good thing.

Coming from the corporate world and knowing Sayers reputation I think he is the right president. You need a strong president that knows how to lead and make others follow.

Wouldn't be the first time a senior coach drops back into an assistant role...

I know Buckley was in the top job for a long time, but it's no different to Ratten, Bolton, Pyke, Sanderson, Knights, Richardson, Williams, Shaw, Voss

My Aunt would have been my Uncle but for..... Even if she were I don't think he would have been a better person.

Understand what you’re saying - was more in response to previous posters saying Ross would be a premiership coach if not for a bad bounce.
