I find it hard how we will end up with Brad Scott. The club has gone down the path of a 'process' 30-40 days mentioned as well.

Brad seems to have the AFL job if he accepts it. Is he really going to turn down the AFL gig to put his name in the ring for the Carlton job? He could end up not getting either. If Ross Lyon had to go through a process then Scott will be expected to as well.

Interesting decision for Brad.

Barass barass
We don't wish to harass
But
Have you any news?
Just a little bit of news
To confirm or deny
Just a bit will get us high.
We know you have to zip
But is Clarko gonna flip?
Does a cook become our chef
De Mission bleu?
Oh we don't know what to do!

Sleepless nights
Giddy heights
King Charles Spaniel
Where's the manual?

Help us out
Ease our doubts
Just a sign
Or small incline
To out, or in
We're wondering

In short dear 'rass
You are a gas
You are the bomb
And thus this song.

POTY

(Poem Of The Year)

Lachie Neale homesickness was leaked to the media so his camp could put out feelers on how the news would be taken

Clarkson is not coming-get over it.
Lyon is out of the running-get over it.
Brad Scott openly stated as has Chris, that they both hate coaching and the pressure in the job. He has found a new life still involved in the game and could be offered the AFL Operations job. Why would he drop that ambition to come to a club that is totally dysfunctional and where Covid disruptions are likely to be around well into next year and there are severe salary cap restrictions on the coaching depts which will make his job even harder?? Why chase a coach who does not want to be a coach or has to be coaxed into accepting the job?

Sayers has marched into the Presidency with the naivety of an 18 y.o. He ordered a review, sacked coaches, possibly promised a potential coach the job and then forced to renege on it, has a CEO looking over his shoulder and a Head of football who has no idea whether he will be there in 2,3 or 4 weeks.
We also have the media lining up and Caro seems to have a crush on Lyon, Lloyd going back to his long run and waiting to smash the club as soon as they sack his brother, and lots more journalists with grudges to bear. The only positive is possibly Cook joining the club. Sayers grade? D-. (and it is not a Distinction)

I would also add to the narrative that there is an imminent EGM. Sayers needs to have delivered someone by then who could be sold to the members as a “best experienced” coach. It won’t be popular if Liddle is still on board at the EGM given his treatment of SOS.

Stakes are high for the club

My view:

He is the link the has surely been missing between the board and the football department, and a link that actually knows a high performance environment first hand from being a player, and has worked at the club subsequent. He'll essentially be a middle man, and have a voice in regards to decisions.

He will help balance out the board who are mainly corporate types. A diverse board is a good board.

Previously I assume Cain was the "link", this obviously did not work and looks certain he will be out the door or put in his lane to stick to commercial matters.

Previously, Chris Judd held the role that Williams now finds himself in.

I love my kids, BUT......if I never have to home-school them again, I would be very thankful.

I've been blessed that during lockdown my partner's job has been considered essential and because we're not married we only had to try it for a couple of days before the school signed off on her son being there.

I can really sympathise with how exhausting and taxing it would be. We have an amazing bond but yeah nah

30-40 days is not realistic at all, need to have a coach by end of this month for trade period & playing list decisions .

Like any of us would know what any of the coaches are like.

We only get their public presentation, where 90% of what they say is neutral nothing so no-one gets offended.

Except the Scott brothers.

90% of what they say is whingeing and moping.... :p

If there is one thing we know for certain, it's that Ross Lyon wants the Carlton coaching job.

Caro sounded very bitter towards Carlton with the
1. Sayers needs to learn how to treat people
2. Carlton got intel from collingwood

seems her source has dried up and she’s not angry and out for revenge
I thought Sayers was the saviour.
Master of professional process...

Clearly its Caro thats problem, not our footy clubs continued amaterurish approach

Maybe Clarkson will not end up coaching us. (I still think he will)

But I have to say I'm so sick of the petulant, sanctimonious & generally rude posts from people squawking that he's not coming over & over.

We're all grown-ups & we all know that it's probably a slim chance but this place is supposed to be a bit of fun.

So please STFU for a while & come back later with your "I told you so's" if he doesn't come. I don't want to name names but have a think about what you're posting FFS.

Ross wants the job, just doesn't want the process. Will be interesting to see how things play out.
