If not Clarko, still hoping it's Graham or Kingsley, if they'll have us. Modern minds, fresh ideas, successful Clubs - their chance to make their name and become famous Carlton people, like Clarko at Hawthorn, Beveridge at the Bulldogs, Hardwick at Tigers and many others before them. Chris Scott makes me want to spew, Brad would be slightly more bearable.

I was laughing at the AFL having integrity not at your post, if you have read " The boys club" regarding the AFL, you will understand where I am coming from. A lot of accusations in that book with regards to the AFL, and Australia have some of, if not the harshest defamatory laws in the world, they have not gone after Mick Warner, so you can read into that what you may.

Look, I think the AFL is one of the dodgiest organisations around, they have serious form. As I've pointed out though, WA police laid no charges either so the implication that it's a "boys club" decision is just off the mark.

Yet we see constant attacks of Lyon's character based on really nothing and some would have us believe he is the devil who should never work again. The innuendo about some/half of the selection panel being against him from the start as something we are supposed to accept as a good thing is annoying to put it mildly - stupid would be one of the words I would use. I think it's no wonder he wouldn't want to go through "a process" which would most likely be a sham.

I love my kids, BUT......if I never have to home-school them again, I would be very thankful.
My partners doing most of the work from home so I make breakfast lunch dinner entertain the 3 year old
I’m half way through a Ironman helmet my 8 year old downloaded the plans printed we have cut out all pieces looks to be at least 12 hours of assembly resin sanding and painting in between zooms
Last year was a nightmare no zoom classes just taught him his time tables and worked through a naplan book
I feel like a plate juggler at the circus so far there all spinning but a couple at the end are looking wobbly

Read the book if you get a chance, there was an undisclosed settlement and non disclosure agreement.

I don't know if he is the best coach for us or not, I can see the upside and if he is the best coach for us, we should get him. Yes, it would be awkward with the "Carlton respects" campaign, but being that they are all adults, you would hopefully think that they can navigate their way through it, but it wont be easy. Ross would have a heap of pressure on him walking in as the Carlton coach on more than one front and he knows it, hence why he may have decided to pull out.

Didn’t Chris Scott say on FC when asked whether Brad should coach again that’s is a crap job and wouldn’t recommend he did.

Effectively yes. Said it was not a very good job - very difficult and stressful. Nothing we probably didn't already know.

Not sure that means much though when it comes to Brad and his future coaching ambitions. He's a grown man and he'll make his own decisions as to whether or not life at club land is something he wants to pursue again.

Oh what a load of crap. You are honestly suggesting that whomever had a problem with Ross would go to the media if he criticised us? What more could be said about that bloke that either hasn't been outrightly said or inferred about the situation in Freo? It would serve people well to remember that he was cleared by the AFL integrity department inquiry and no police charges have ever been made.

Aren't you also forgetting that he turned us down, not the other way around? Please....

The red flags are more on us and our administration than they are on Ross Lyon.

probably not the crushing vindication you seem to think

There's more of us with that opinion than just this person. We're realists. Just don't like living in a land of phantasy and fairytales.

Wait till trade time.. you ain't seen nothing yet..

We all know that and Ross has admitted as such regarding the NDA. I've posted this before but if what he did was so egregious and wrong, why was a settlement taken? It would be easy to question the motivations of someone who takes money rather than wants justice/due process, but this is something none of us will ever truly know full details about. I harp, but one also has to ask how come he was cleared by two bodies, one internal and the other official and external, if what he did is so bad that he shouldn't be considered for future coaching roles.

I concur, no real idea if he is the right man for the job. I have a firm opinion that he's a good, strong coach and a vast majority of his players strongly support this as well as him as a person and mentor. What irks me is that he pulled out of the process and the potential reasons for that. It's frustrating as a long time member that we may end up with someone coaching us that is inferior to someone like Lyon, because of perceived social pressures and agendas.

Kind of been over this, but are you saying that the court of public opinion of a select few is more valid and worthy than the law?

I think your post is probably not as well thought out or as much of a 'sick burn' as you seem to think.

**edited bit**
i don't trust the AFL at all

i like lyon, you seem to be on a crusade to shoehorn your own politics into this but FWIW you quoted me initially.

I think he wasn't hard on the club when given the opportunity to kick us on FC for two reasons: one he still wants the job, two if he tries to burn us there will be more selective leaking against him, as there was when his candidacy was first announced.

No, it's the exact opposite. I want people's politics and personal agendas completely out of it and away from my sports. That has always been my gripe and something I will do whatever is in my powers as a member and/or stakeholder to achieve. I may yet get an opportunity to do so sooner rather than later unfortunately.

I hope the first bit is the case and I still hold some minor hope for that, albeit a very small amount. The second bit I think is crap, what else is there to leak? I doubt there is much more that could be aimed at his character than what has already been reported/whispered about. We shall see in time maybe?
