Well first Cook has to sit through the Process to see if he actually knows how to be a CEO. But before that we need to convene a selection committee which will take another few weeks to assemble and announce. Liddle might be asked to sit on the selection committee as his last task as CEO before we give him a chance to provide us some feedback before sending him packing.

Josh Frydenberg, Carlton’s number one ticket holder, revealed on Sunday he is backing Clarkson to coach the Blues next season and beyond.

Carlton’s high-profile new president, Luke Sayers, the former head of PwC Australia, is known to be extremely keen for Clarkson to take the job, and big money offers are understood to be in the offing.

Cook defines what a CEO is. He will show us what CEO is when he starts.

I’m a little more cautious. When Greg Swann came he was considered the best in the business (or close to it). He’s further cemented his reputation at the Lions. With us, his time is viewed as being underwhelming. For even an experienced and good operator like Cook to work out, will require hard work from others to sort out our culture and processes. I definitely hope Cook comes across though.

Interesting to see what pans out with the CEO process now. I know there is someone lined up in the wings... But given we just cut ties with Liddle on Friday, you have to wonder if we'd announce a replacement so soon.

Also keep in mind that it may not necessarily be Carlton who announces something first...
