What if The player isn’t totally against the idea?

Most deals get done with the departing club e.g Fremantle getting well compensated, that is why if Cerra nominates Melbourne he will need to have a fall back position 2nd choice club as right now Melbourne are incapable of compensating Fremantle fairly, reality is Cerra is coming back for family reasons so will definetly require a 2nd choice club to go to should Melbourne be his chosen club.

No I think Gia is being interviewed for the head coaching role. Why would he come to Carlton as a senior assistant when he has a good gig at Ess and has only been there for 1 season?

The most likely outcome is Gia/Kingsley the head coach and experience around them like Robert Harvey and Matthew Scarlett

Having Don Pyke as coach with Gia as assistant is an absolutely smashing result for the footy club, in fact I would argue that it's better than just having Clarkson by himself surrounded by budget assitants (due to SC restraints)

And factor in the likely arrival of Brian Cook and it feels like Everything is coming up Milhouse !!!
