Ian Aitken making one final pitch to clarko today. If Clarko gives the wrong answer, Deisel and Rhys are going to hold him down and tickle him until he agrees.

Still a lot to play out.
Would have loved Rhys to have a crack at coaching CFC in days gone by. Didn’t he take North Launceston to a flag as a playing coach and get Frankston into a couple of Grand Finals?

Do people believe that this decision is going down as predominantly Cook's?

Doesn't seem like a good start to me if he was to override the coaching selection panel, not that i think he will but just that a few here seem to think it's within his mandate.
We have hired him to make the key decisions. Nothing wrong with the panel collating all the information.

Also seems like Cook has only interviewed a couple, the panel would have gone through a much larger number, so it has certainly served a purpose.

Who’s the Hammer Heads?

The reality TV football team in the Western Region Football team. On Ch.7 weekly throughout the season in 1997 lead by Hutchy and Sam Kekovich. Had Richmond's old recruiting manager, who's name escapes me. Had all sorts try out before the season started, picked their squad eventually, and went on to win the flag.

We already are at dregs level, aren’t we?

Just hope Voss isn’t a saving face appointment bc he has ‘experience’.

Overall, turning to Voss in the hunt for an experienced coach is nothing but underwhelming right now.

He is. Basically a Bradbury. You could bet if Brad or Chris Scott, for example, were available that Voss wouldn't have been anywhere near near it.

You can also add that Hewett would be better then any player SOS could get to the club through free agency and draft never landed big fish or above average players like Williams and Saad
Is this for real???
I get SOS has his detractors and is not universally loved as a recruiter, but that top comment is just utter, uninformed garbage. Just taking the piss because they have NFI

Hewitt takes Matt Kennedy's spot imo who like Dow and Cripps is a "one way mid". Although I do like what Kennedy beings offensively.

Also Setterfield goes back in the que, career defining year for him.

Yep this illustrates our failure to develop the talent on our list.

Should we be starting to worry in regards to how many quality assistants there are left for us to potentially gain?
Attracting 'known' quality assistants is my concern with choosing a senior coach. We all know Clarko or Lyon would have achieved this. Now, our next coach needs to be the one that attracts the best help. Regardless of who is arguably the best coach, we can't afford a weak team of coaches.

This is the PR battle the club will face. It feels like we are getting Voss because we couldn't get anybody else. I wonder if the club is truly happy with what they have on offer. The more they procrastinate over the decision, the more it looks like they are not happy with their choices IMO. The assistants are all important.

You can hang it on him if we are still crap at the end of his contract, but be open minded about someone learning from their mistakes, and he is at least willing to give it a shot unlike the other blokes that thumbed their noses at taking the job for various reasons. We cannot be any worse off than what we are now!!! Port seem to think he goes alright, and he has learnt from his past according to how he has managed their players....time will tell!!!

A mate of mine reckons that Walsh is rumoured to have requested a trade to the Dogs.
Anyone else heard this?

For the record, I don't believe it.
By any chance, is your mate a dogs supporter?

Ed 32 years old and horrible kick
Hewett 26 years old
Did you think he was a horrible kick every time he kicked a goal for us?
Sorry but I find it hard to take when pot shots are fired at Ed.
Such a loyal player who gives a billion per cent every game .

I tend to agree with you on Voss, it does have the last man standing (experience) feel. Although I am coming around to giving him a go. I almost feel it would be an important media conference for Voss to set the tone and get the supporter base behind him.

If we chose Kingsley that would be seen as a very brave choice and a major step away from previous decisions.

I've loved what I have heard about Kinglsey and I think we can easily paint a strong picture if he was chosen.
