I understand us using a round 1 pick on a Cerra, but giving up next years round 1 pick on a Mitchell, after we just thru away last year’s top 10 pick, would be a real concern in my view.
Need to bundle up a 2nd and sps pick for a late first

If you've got people on this board and at the club against appointing someone like Ross Lyon, I find it hard to believe there would be a lot of support for someone that's actually broken the law multiple times. Those are the times that we know about too.

Would be very hypocritical.
Maybe the selection panel preferred Voss over Lyon on coaching grounds. Maybe the list management team don't have a list spot to consider Stengle.

Hewett, Cerra, some promising versatile talls, couple of kids in the draft.

That’s what we need, not :
A. - pointless speculation about how we’re going To afford a particular player,
B - even less productive navel gazing about how we over paid for a particular player Last year.

coz you can bet that A will become B again by this time next year.

yawn…

Why?

What we actually need to do is prioritise what our needs are (e.g. kpd, upgraded levi), work out how the draft is likely to play out and determine our strategy from there.

For example if the 2nd best kpd is likely to be available at 25 (and we think that he fits our needs) and we like Cripps brother as a forward/ruck with the pick we get for sps why trade to get a first rounder and use it on the kpd?

Saad was one of our better performers for the majority of the year. He only fell away towards the end, but the whole team was unravelling by then. Of the 4 recent big name pick ups of Williams, Martin, McGovern and himself, he has clearly been the most consistent performer.

You my friend are satisfied very easily, especially given what he cost us.
As for 2 of the others, they where free hits and I still believe will and can offer more long term.
McGovern, well enough said already. Has done nothing at all and more importantly cost us a bloody round 1 in the end as well. We have been good at this game. I live in hope the review identified some of this.

He is but Mitchell does it better. Would also take pressure off cripps
Debateable. At his best Cripps is one of the best if not the best in the comp.

Teams really only need the 1 star extractor.

Given his age, what we would have to give up and what we would have to pay him, Mitchell just doesn’t seem the right fit.

If Cripps can get back near his best, he just needs some inside support from Ed/Hewitt/Kennedy.

Walsh and Cerra more than capable of winning their own contested ball too.

Yeah, that was the intent.  He isnt the messiah of a list manager as some people here think he is.

The messiah?

Literally nobody has suggested that he was the messiah or that he did a perfect job at the club. That's just a lazy throwaway line and a complete fallacy pushed by those who refuse to give him credit for what he did in his time at the club.
