Only if we can throw in McGovern and you throw us at least a third rounder.
I'm not sure I'd be interested if we won Jared Polec...
Bröther??Flawed for a reason...
I think we should take a future 2nd from Roos for Dow and bolt!
We could then use that pick plus our own current 2nd round pick from this year and turn this package into an additional first round pick this year in the 14-17 range and that would give us two first round picks to load up on KPP talent for the future. Or one KPP player and the other on a player who can break the lines with speed.
Norf's 2nd pick this year is currently #56Why does it have to be a future 2nd and not a 2nd for this year for Dow?
Norf doesn't have one. Would require a second deal to be done (or third club involvement). Future 2nd would be both easier to do, and more realistic (though I think Norf would want a little extra). Why does it have to be a future 2nd and not a 2nd for this year for Dow?
Correct whilst some on here may rate him highly, on the open market the best we could get for him would be a pick in the range of 18-25. And many would still say that pick range is heavily slanted towards us.Norf doesn't have one. Would require a second deal to be done (or third club involvement). A contracted borderline required player. A third round pick is unders. The only reason he isn't in the first team now is because we filled it with other elite level players and made a beast mode midfield.

absenceI like the old saying, distance makes the heart grow fonder and it looks like many here have fallen for, the idea of David Cuningham and not the output of David Cuningham.
Posters are saying, Cunners is the missing link to our midfield, Cunners can go on to a wing and still hit a lace out pass wrong footed.
David Cuningham averages 6 kicks per game and 6 games per season, that’s the reality.
If Dow couple play in the forward line, he would get more call ups I feel. But he's a pure mid and his skill set doesn't translate to other positions. Cripps, Kennedy, and Walsh can all play in other positions. Hewett and Cerra are both midfielders. And it'd be hard to carry 3 pure mids in the side.Cripps missed a game, Kennedy has missed a few, Cerra has missed a game, Hewett missed a few, if Voss rated Dow he would have played more than 1 game.
If it's north (and he's deemed a 2nd value) they traded their 2nd to Richmond for Coleman-Jones last yearWhy does it have to be a future 2nd and not a 2nd for this year for Dow?

Doesn’t chase and I still think he lacks intensity sometimes. Think we have to just move onYes, even with the fresh eyes but he did say he’s been doing more than enough to be promoted.
Diesel was quite buoyed by his pre-season too.
Hopefully he gets a run of games to strut his stuff & we can see where he stands at AFL level. Need more than a 1 game sample.
Actually, I've always liked Cuningham. I always like players whose possessions do more damage than the others. Cuningham doesn't get much of the ball but his possessions stand out because he is either in a middle of a pack inside 50, and a quick swivel of the hips and flick out handball ends up being a goal or his ability to kick skilful goals.I like the old saying, distance makes the heart grow fonder and it looks like many here have fallen for, the idea of David Cuningham and not the output of David Cuningham.

Agree, but the fact that he’s contracted helps our cause in addition to his pedigree of being a top 5 pick will mean we won’t let him go for anything less than a second rounder. There will be a club and or clubs out there who think they can get the best out of him and If we get a second round pick for him it’s a decent result all round.A second for Dow and we've robbed North....
Bite your tongue.A second for Dow and we've robbed North....
But a third rounder from a top club robs us.A second for Dow and we've robbed North....
No it doesn't. The only thing putting dows value above someone like Lipinski is that he's contracted. Clubs don't tend to play hard ball over players like Dow etc...But a third rounder from a top club robs us.
I've always thought using the term 1st.,2nd. or 3rd round compensation to describe a players value (especially with academy and father-son picks) is just so vague. It's like valuing a house at about $ 700,000- to $1,300,000.
Lets just call it a number, give or take half a dozen? Then you can argue the point whether somebody is shafted or not.
Dow is most likely the next one in once Ed retires and if one of the current 4/5 kids were out with injury. I really hope he stays for cover, being better defensively is probably one of the easier things to fix. I reckon he is very close to being a very good player for us. I hope they put some work into supporting/improving his game, like they did Kennedy.
We need a 10% better Dow then another 2nd round pick in my opinion
