McKay - Coleman medalist 2021
Curnow - leading goal kicker 2022
Silvagni - 3rd tall
TDK - Plays as a forward moreso than ruck with Pittonet in
Kemp - can play 3rd tall forward or 3rd tall defender
That list didn't fill me with confidence in terms of "stocked tall forwards".

I think we saw how important it was having Harry come back. Kemp wasn't put into the team to play forward and I dont think he has played a seniors game forward and you wouldn't pin your hopes on TDK being the next in line.

We could use another tall forward, thats all I'm saying.

Reckon we can go to the draft for a KPF though - there's a few of them this year.

We lack depth. Our first team options are great. You can't spend what McStay would cost just to add depth.

We don't need a Dan Mcstay as our best 22 key forwards are already elite.

Worth a lot more to teams crying out for key forwards. Wouldn't be value for money for us.

We need a depth key forward option, not best 22.

Looking at Dan McStay, have approached his management.

But Would any tall forward good enough to make a difference be willing to play in the 2nd for most of the year?

Agreed. Harry goes down and Cripps has to start pinch hitting in the ruck. That's not depth.
It terms of depth, you can't really count TDK as both ruck and forward. We didn't bring Kemp in, so that says he still has a way to go.

Fair. Not sure he would want to move to play back up to Charlie and Harry and not sure how he plays with them?

Disclaimer: I haven't seen much of McStay in the past 12 months, but....

I can't see what the big hoopla is. He's a reasonable KPP, who will kick 25-30 goals a year and can provide backup at CHB if needed.

Not sure where these five-year, 600-700k offers are coming from. IMO the only reason he is getting mentioned is he's an FA and the journos salivate over any players that haven't signed (repeating basically the same article 100 times) and his management is probably playing along for shits and giggles.

He'll re-sign with Brisbane and anyone that throws more than 3-4 years or >450-500k at him has rocks in their heads...

James Stewart. Appears to be out of contract. Would only cost a few pennies.
And draft an 18 year old to develop.

James Stewart has conclusively proven himself time and again not to be an A.F.L. standard footballer.
I get your point that we need a player prepared to play plenty of V.F.L. whilst harry and Charlie are playing but you also need someone who can contribute if required.
Not sure if James Stewart is that man.

All I can say is isnt it grand that this thread is no longer our one and only source of optimism.
But its still good for a laugh now n then........:thumbsu:

Wait until trade/free agency period ..... Hilarious 😂

I'm sure Nick Austin and team can do much better than James Stewart.
They convinced the Bulldogs to part ways with Lewis Young for a pick in the 50s, remarkable.

We're going to be strapped for cash and trade currency in the next few years and going for cheap moneyball acquisitions to fill depth roles is crucial.

Yep I'd be all for him as an option...not my first option but reasonable. 199cm. Can play forward and back. I think he can support ruck as well.

I doubt he gets a look in at Essendon who are somewhat rebuilding. I checked and he is out of contract this year.

Pretty good replacement for Omac who has the same versatility.
