Stay tuned - we couldn't sign him on a long term contract and definitely can't afford anyone else.
We have the cattle for a flag. A little more maturity for a handful and some luck with injury for a couple more will make it even more so. Then the draft is our very best friend.

Absolutely but that wont stop the media frenzy and more importantly the negativity against us at every opportunity we might have on trying to improve our list.

We lack in a few areas...we lack dynamism mostly. That torquey Petracca, De Goey, Dusty, Gresham type.

Our foot skills would still be lower half in comp. Very few (any?) players that can regularly make attacking plays.

And were still getting by on small forward quantity over quality. Where would our best small forward rate in a competition depth chart?

I’ll give you the foot skills deficiency, however I believe we have the personnel to bring it to adequate levels, offset by the irresistible force our prime movers can be.

Dynamism? Cripps in full flight any less than the named. Walsh? (Can’t believe Gresham got a mention in that mix) Charlie not dynamic enough for you? Others can enter the discussion. So many sell our own short.

Small forwards. Durdin and Motlop still developing are at worst, a very solid pairing. Durds has more pressure and substance than most and not without his share of class. Motlop the question, it would be a brave punter to limit his ceiling.
Yeah Owies somewhat bland, but a workrate not dissimilar to multi flag forward Castagna. On the off chance Cuningham comes good physically, it takes the group to a new level. Just quietly, I see a mix, with Cowan incorporated in to the defence, Williams could easily be added to the forward group. He brings a significant dose of x-factor which has has cameos at GWS.

Think we stack up OK.

Cripps is a modern great. Dynamic he is not. Nor is Walsh for that matter. Or Hewett, or Kennedy, or Cerra. Gresham is a very different 'type' to the above.

Charlie most certainly is. He can make much happen from little. He should be the most feared forward in the game. He can't lace out a 60m tit stinger to himself.

We don't have a top 15 small foward. I think Motlop could get there.

Maybe it is possible that Austin has made a mess of things and not SOS.
Just a thought.
2 different things at play. No one is disputing SOS did a good job coming in cutting the guts out of the list and aligning our TPP. That, more a dire reflection on the pre SOS regime, however slashing costs / dead wood and cleaning the slate needed to be done which he did.

The forward forecast modelling of TPP. A completely different ball game and no reason why things may have been perceived to have, or actually have been seen as a mess.

Could be tied in to Arrows point of 2 differing modus operandi's. I.e SOS over paying youngsters and low balling older players as a matter of need to turn over the list while simultaneously hit TPP lower bound caps. While Austin having to undo a lot of them owing to top end talent now needing to be rewarded. Horses for courses, the list at different stages. Interpretation of what some one deems a mess relative to another can be vast, very easy to see how rumours like this come to be. The debate though should not be so much the merits of a favourite son being sullied, but would be curious more to the point of what is deemed a mess. I.e is this current 'state of affairs' come about by a matter of need v a matter of competency. That would be the only slightly more interesting line of inquiry I would think.

Personally I have no idea nor blind attachment to the former or later regimes. SOS did some good stuff initially and was limited in other areas. Austin along with a new executive team is doing very well thus far. How much the broader competency that comes with the change of c suite may also be a positive contributing factor as well not sure. No one external to it all would.

Conclusion....Long winded way of saying could very easily be on the money yet maybe not. In the words of my 8 year old "Who Knows"
It's one of the more interesting rumours though. So that's a plus.

Very impressed with TDK.

Loyalty to club over self is very rare albeit understandably so

Fingers crossed all goes well for him over the coming years.
