He’s reasonably fresh so this is the first bit of information he’s got. The club is also not the bulldogs so it all could be speculation coming from said club.

I feel the Tigers are about to fall off a massive cliff (or at least I hope so).

They have a huge group of great vets who are nearing the end. They are basically Hawthorn from about 3-4 years ago.

The questions are 1) How much are the vets already having less of an impact? 2) what can the Tigers do with their list to reload once the vets go.

I am really hoping the answers are 'not much' to both...

Really come full circle if Jones heads back to the Dogs, but he fits their list needs.

They have enough dour backman who can hold down an opponent but aren’t great interceptors.

At least we will cop a pick, rather than lose out completely if Jones had of been de-registered.

I think TDK is a utility-ruck, rather than first ruck. Don't think Pittonet cuts the mustard for premiership-level ruckman, need an improvement in the first ruck position

And is more talented then many supporters realise. Watching him in the VFL the last few weeks some of his tapwork is incredible. Also, many teams have won premierships without All Australian calibre ruckman. Pittonett as a work horse type fits the bill fine.

Jones for Caleb Daniel. The trade come full circle. Hell, they can have Jason Tutt and Jimmy Plunkett too. We're keeping Matty Hogg though.

Needs to be a round 2 pick. Such a key player in our side who was removed due to AFL protocol. The AFL need to compensate us with nothing less then a r2 selection. Bulldogs get him for nothing, else they would have paid more.

Would love that and get where you are coming from but would be shocked if we get a 2nd. We will get similar to what he would net us in free agency compo which would be a 3rd given his age.

I wonder if last year it may have netted a 2nd. AFL should take into account when we lost Jones, not when he re-enters... probably still only a 3rd, but I think an argument could be made for a 2nd... but given AFL I wouldn't be surprised at anything...

I still think we would have got a 3rd last year. Can't recall a >30 year old who has netted better then a 3rd round pick as free agency compo. Issac Smith got a 2 year contract at 450k a year as a 31 year old and only netted a 3rd.

I reckon they will give us at least that though. A 3rd will be enough to appease us without p#ssing anyone else off. Giving us a 2nd would be a lot more contentious.
