Bo ... if you think the way to build a new dynasty is best kicked off by cutting deals through stealth , back doors and dishonesty then no wonder the RFC has struggled for so long.

Remind me of your views on John Northey again ?

listen ****head, I'll thank you to paraphrase precisely what i was applauding him for, that was returning to his roots unless I'm otherwise mistaken, but hey, feel free to make it up as you go to suit your own twisted agenda:eek:

Nah mate.

Ur full of shit.

You're aware of the backdooring thompson gave geelong but in your character analysis system - it doesn't matter ! !

It's totally cool ! !

****, but Im not sure that I see the parallels there...bomber had climbed the mountain, was there 10 years and was clearly on the way down the other side after taking the club to two flags in last 4 seasons..by comparrison, Northey was at RFC for two seasons:eek:

For having the human decency and integrity to hear the call to arms and go back to his roots in recognition for who made him what he is. More than be said for former Tiger premiership players in Sheedy and Malthouse in their football journeys:thumbsu:

Dog act if you ask me. His behaviour in the box during the season left a lot to be desired. Looked totally disinterested during games. A year on his contract left and got stuck into ablett for wanting to leave.

gee bomber touches a raw nerve hey partner, reminds of some twat that started an embarrasing thread a couple of weeks back deriding him and hirdy, you're not even worthy, at ease now junior

Anyone who shares Mr Bo Jerkoffs views has been part of the problem.
Here here Iddy !

They are not those who we would build the foundations of an empire on.

As for the straw clutch at Malthouse and Sheedy - grow up

They both walked out on contracts ... apparently one is allowed to ;)

well, call me a romantic, but I admire the fella for going back to where it all began, without ESS he would have been NOTHING. Pity in our wretched history that when our call to malthouse and Sheedy came, both ***** thumbed their noses to their roots...That my friend is the whole point of it all

lmao

Lagging Bo Jerkoff starts an "ars licking for dogs" thread and gets flustered when he makes a tool of himself.

lmao again.

@ least when i do it - IDGAF!

Malthouse thumbed his nose to our shambolic leadership and chronic long term lack of professionalism as a club .

Sheedy was just that bloke who had a wife who was a great housewife and cook but a shithouse root ... who used to fantasize about goin back and shagging the @rse out of his first love .

Thats all we ever were to him .. his fantasy and nothing more . He knew where his "meat and 3 veg" was ...;)

The whole modern day mantra of the "New RFC" is forgetting about our lamentable past ... cutting it free ... forgetting about it and moving forward . I think you need to as well

... and what i know of Damien Hardwick from what i have read and those who know him personally and where he comes from ... I'm tipping he would not cut contract to slink back to Windy Hill if the going gets a little tough , and that is something i will take the Pepsi challenge on

Duuhhhh ...OkaY.

LMAO@ The similarities between you and Bomber.

Face it - u started an idiot thread out of romantic desperation and personal cowardly attributes.

Dance for me.

They had their reasons for thumbing their noses. They were both at better run, more professional clubs. Our club has been full of factions and backstabbers for the best part of 25 years. Why would they come back and destroy their reputations? We have chewed up a lot of good people...good coaches who have had little or no support who were knifed as soon as the going got tough. Wallace would be the only exception. Kevin Bartlett would have made a fantastic coach at a better club.

I don't believe in sentiment. Thomsons exit from geelong was a disgrace.

If we had a coach, successful or not, who up and walked while still contracted to go back to their original club, like Bomber did I find it highly unlikely that any of us would be patting them on the back.

Now if said coach was honest and upfront with the club and said, 'Look I've had a good run, we've had some success but I think its time I moved on.' Then I could pat them on the back and say good luck with your new venture, but this whole Thompson thing stinks, especially when you throw in all the loyalty crap that he spewed while Gary was making up his mind.

If we had someone like that and it happened he would probably need to get someone else to start his car in the mornings, shit thing to do and as i said common denominator,,,,bummers.

Hear Hear most sensible post on this thread, and i am sure we would all love to go back and shag our first love, even though we fumbled in the dark.

I don't think anyone would have a problem if Bomber had of come out and said during the year that he was going to leave as he had had enough of being the head coach. The fact that he practically bagged Ablett through the media for not being honest and upfront about what he was going to do and then turned around and went behind the Cats backs to do a deal with the Bombers just smacks of a man who is a hypocrite rather than a man who has integrity.

now this might sound a little crazy but is there anywhere in the world where you can declare your intent to leave and secure a position with a rival before your time is up...and don't so rugby league...Not something that is generally broadcast, i'd suggest that after 10 years and the penultimate success that his departure was good all round.

Re- the factions etc. I don't believe Wallis, Corcoran or Thompson would've ever come back to Essendon had the previous CEO (Jackson) still been there. Obviously the call was made by someone at some point that bringing these clubmen (Corcoran, Wallis, Hird, Wellman, Thompson, Scotty Lucas) back into the fold was worth the turmoil & instability it'd cause.

No, it hasn't been pretty.
But I don't think it'll cause lasting scars.

Geelong has declared that there was a flurry of calls and texts to essendon mid year from their phone records. I wanna know how he could sleep at night and lie through his teeth to a club that's made him a millionaire and backed him to the hilt when the going was tough early.
