Thanks stemline. You've listed 34 players and as per below in 2022 we could only list 30. Therefore it's possible not all the players who have played in the practice games have contracts. I'm going to the season launch on 20th March when the final list will be announced.

  • AFL and aligned clubs have 30 listed players (15 primary, 15 development including maximum of 13 Category A).
  • Clubs can make a maximum of 16 changes to their list during the home-and-away season (6 primary, 10 development), with any player signed after June 30 needing to play three matches to qualify for the finals.

Teams can contract as many players as they want but can only lodge a list of 30 players at a time.

31 shots to 15 that's a one sided game. But we are at our weakest with that squad so no cause for.concern.
Looking at the squad it looked like we only had 3-4 AFL players when we will most likely have 10-12 most weeks pending injury concerns. Would assume Willy - as a non-aligned club - had their best 22 (or close to it) out there.

Exactly.

Thanks for the clarification AUR. That explains the maximum of 16 changes to their list during the home-and-away season (6 primary, 10 development). The primary list players would need to weigh up the benefit of development training with a strong club against the opportunity to get gain game exposure playing with a weaker club. RIP the development league which was a great pathway for boys after the TAC/NAB League.

The link to an insightful podcast in which Damo confirms he is playing this season. He has been restricted by an achilles injury and hopes to play in next week's practice. He's getting married so he'll miss round 1, round 2 is a bye and all going well he'll play in round 3.

I hope James Cousins, Mat Walker and Harry Jones have strong seasons. Willy reamed norf signing up Mat, Harry and Marty Hore.

RR, Jek missed the intraclub practice match and Buts had restricted game time against in the Cats and Pies practice matches.

Terrible news. James Parsons is also going to miss 2023 with an ACL injury. I believe that Damien Mascitti will play intermittently as he moves into a coaching role? Some huge losses there.

We do appear to have accumulated some pretty impressive young talent though.

Wow. That's terrible news with 3 x ACLs. Horrific luck. Hoping there's not a pattern based on the ovals we're training on?

Lots of changes at Box Hill. Will be interesting to see how we fair with the changes in personnel/coach, but with more young talent and hopefully more HFC talent available to play.
