Boyd going after Harvey's hand?

This is footy. Once you go out onto the ground its on. Nothing stays out there. You line up and play you get hit, you get bumped, tackled, bruised- injury or no injury.
Boomer showed Boyd tough when he dominated the last quarter.

My post wasn't about Boyd, haven't seen the footage. It was aimed at the generalisation that 'if you cross the white line' your fair game. So again, to the posters who feel this way, how would you feel if Petrie's career was ended by someone deliberately standing on his foot off the ball?

We've seen him play out the year so we know he was fit to play, thus relinquishing the medicos, but could his foot have withstood a massive direct impact from a studded boot? Could it cope if it happened next week? Or do we just hope that this only happens at the normal rate of occurrence, which would be very rare and feel safe knowing that his recovering breaks are able to cope with the 'expected' rigors of AFL.

It's just one of the things I hate to see out there, again this isn't about the Boyd incident I just hate seeing this sort of thing in general.

Id be angry at the fool that allowed him to play when such a simple act purposeful or not could end a career. Perhaps times have changed. but it was expected when playing sport - Your injured, hide it well or they'll be coming for you.

Pretty sure that most posters would agree the point at question isn't whether an opponent was entitled to 'test' Boomer's injury ; rather to point out the disgusting hypocrisy of Eade, and various unquestioning stooges in the media, after his sooking last year about how North had supposedly targeted his players, Thompson had supposedly kneed Hall in the head, Hall needed some protection from the umps, etc etc.

Thank you.

Exactly. Some people have missed the point of the original posting.
In the Victory Room before the game JB made mention of Eade's villification of Scotty Thomson, and our Club, after THAT match and seems it may have been used as motivation.

Bulldogs captain Matthew Boyd has faced awkward questioning over footage indicating he targeted Brent Harvey's fractured thumb on Sunday.

Video footage which seemingly showed Boyd taking a swipe at the thumb was played to the Bulldogs skipper on Foxtel's On the Couch program last night.

Asked about the incident, Boyd attempted to deflect it with humour.

"Boomer [Harvey] was just asking me to get some grass off his hand, so I was sort of mucking around," Boyd said. "We were just having a chat, we're old acquaintances from way back."

I still remember Rodney Eade calling North dirty because along with the Hall incident, 2 of their players had concussions.

The bit he failed to mention as the journos were writing down their scoop that those 2 players had a clash of heads with each other.

Nothing to do with North..now that is embarrassing for Eade.

Noticed that BBBH has announced his retirement after our game, was the big sook worried we'd rough him up if he announced it beforehand?:D
