No glass house at all. Robbie Campbell was not rejected by Hawthorn. They were shattered when he went into retirement due to a persistent knee complaint. If he stays fit, he will play a very important role with the Dees.
So which is it????
First u say he was recruited to not play an overly important role and then in the next sentence he will play an important role????
This is why I think it's a very poor decision. I don't think anyone can say what a great pick up Miller will be and then play him in the VFL all year, it's just a waste of a pick. How many games do you expect Miller to play next year?
Not trying to start a troll effort, just interested.
That was me. It all depends on how much you rate backup ruckman. So which is it????

shattered, lol, about as shattered as when rhan hooper was given the flick...get a grip, who do do you think your foolin
What do backup ruckman do? bugger all most of the time.So to protect Jamar you recruiting a old injury prone ruck???
So who do you think Miller is going to be protecting then?
So it's ok for Melbourne to recruit Campbell to protect a mature ruck in Jamar but it's not ok for us to recruit a matured body to protect our young forwards?
Get your hand off it mate and as I said earlier leave the board before you make yourself look like more of an idiot, which now you have already done so good job.
I don't agree with these opinions. I think the only way he won't be in the senior team is if teams stop picking the backup ruckman. If he doesn't play seniors then yes he is a failed pick.He was rookied for insurance and leadership/mentoring of our young Casey ruck stocks IMO.
He could well end up playing seniors, but even if he doesn't, I'm sure his presence around the club will be beneficial for the likes of Gawn, Spencer and Fitzpatrick.
if the idea from the club is he is not to play afl why did they not offer him a contract as the playing coach at coburg. thus freeing up a rookie spot for a young kpp.Not sure where the idea that Miller is bookmarked to play any specific number of games comes from.
From an interview on SEN last month, dimma said;
MY impression is that all going to plan, Miller will hardly play a senior game, if any at all.

Talkingfooty, I think you need to change change your name to talkingshit.
Where did I say this? Please show me...

the only reason they mature rookied him was so he could play some afl games have a big body there in case jack goes down.
well common sense would suggest this.
if people have not noticed the list has few EXPERIENCED players.
if post astbury and griffiths are fit and vickery is to play more as a forward as they say he will, i can see no place for miller other than backup for jack.
personally i think it a good move getting miller to the club but i have to question did we need to use a rookie spot to get him. especially if hes to play at coburg.
one thing for sure our young tall forwards are going to be fast tracked weather they are ready or not.being thrown in and being so young, and physically not ready its reasonable to assume they will get sore and injured pretty quickly.
if these youg blokes cop injury we will need someone there to fill the void.for now that void filler is miller.
...jordan won the match for the tigers against melbourne with an after the siren beautifull long kick through the middle of the big sticks...
...(much to my chagrin!......)....
...whether he should have done so at the time is still open to debate......
Gee you totally missed the point of my post, I was saying that the players with Dimma the structures and game plan in place knew where to kick the ball the majority of the time, and with the confidence of knowing where a player will be at any given time during a setup of play helped the skills of the players.
In no way was I saying Kings career has been good so prior to 2010, all I was pointing out was that up until this year his kicking has been well below average, and this year under Dimmas structures he turned it over less and his skills went up a knotch.

........
As a Coburg player he can't train with Richmond.
As Dimma has publicly stated, Miller has already taught Alex and Postie more than he can.
Learn the AFL rules on things. Your opinion on items where the AFL has strict rules is irrelevant.
Ok so the players knew where to kick and someone would be there waiting for the ball yet McMahon couldn't get a game despite everyone else getting a game and a few rookies McMahon couldn't crack it for one.
What does that have to do with the discussion about McMahons skills?
I never said he should of been called up to play, all I said was he was a good disposer of the ball but a lack of a game plan and structures under the Wallace era was a part of the reason why so called players were labeled as bad kicks.
Would have gotten games at the end of the season if he wasn't injured. More out of kids going in for surgery than him deserving it.If he had the skills and struggled with no gameplan and no structure then surely under a gameplan and structure from Hadwick he would have shone and got game time fact is he didn't because his skills are overrated.
It's not worth debating because he is no longer he and is of no consequence as to how we perform from here on in.

Fact is he wasn't as bad as many on here suggest. Would have been a reasonable player in a good side. We weren't a good side.
Fact is, though, we made the wrong decision to give up a high draft pick for him.
Fact is, you are right in your last sentence. We need to move on.
He was a good player at the Dogs. Not great, but very serviceable for two or three years.i disagree. was he a good player at the dogs.
sheesh it was unbelievable when we traded pick 19 for him. ive never been so gutted over a footy issue.i have never ever seen my very astute doggie mates more happy. he was a turn over merchant at wb and he was a turnover merchant with us. combine his lilly livered defensive side and he was never a good footballer.
oh and your right we need to move on but we had damn well never forget live and learn as long as we learn.
