Would Adelaide take zerk in the PSD. Really can't see why both teams wouldn't just do this.

Ess could chuck in 3rd/4th rounder but pretty even swap.

Zerk actually has slightly better stat rankings for position but is uncontacted and slightly older.

Fresh start and a needs benefit both for both clubs.

What's riskier for port, duursma coming good or looking bad for not trying to cover the kpd gaps.

Lol, as if a club would be petty enough to re-draft a guy who refused to sign a contract for them.
I'll preface this with, this whole notion won't happen, and it is quite a silly conversation going on. If it does result in BZT needing to go to the draft, because they're busy haggling over a late pick swap I'd be pissed if I was BZT. I'd certainly think about whether I wanted to go to Port if I was another player in the future.

But I'll add, if a player nominates to enter the draft, then they are contractually obligated to go to and play for whatever club selects them. Not sure what a breach of that contract would look like?

If they're haggling over later picks, this deal will get done.

Adelaide don't need him, would only be tempted out of spite.

More likely to take Esava at pick 20 in the ND.

Wouldn't have thought so as not a need & we have already traded in Burgess.

Port holding because a player that doesn't want to play for them is contracted would make sense if there's no defender that they need with a risk of him being taken elsewhere.

Port is the one that is in need of a structural player here, in a position that doesn't have many options. Duursma is basically a "take and see what we can do" type player.

Contracts or not, Port will be the one left with a sour taste in their mouth since they're the ones on the edge of competing, we're not.

And if they keep dragging this on they risk insulting BZT even more. Not a good way to make someone feel wanted, you'd think.

Any chance Essendon would just redraft him if he went to the PSD - they offered him a 3 year extension so it seems wanted to keep him
On the one hand it would be pretty silly of us to do that if he would rather walk than sign a contract with us. But on the other hand if you walk to the draft you should be prepared to play for any club.

I don’t see why he would walk to the draft if his soul intention is to return home.
