Brayshaw and Cerra.

20m from a standing start doesn’t tell the story. I think top speed should be included. Barlow has a cracking first 20m, under 3s. Yet he was snail paced.

You can train to improve your 20m time without actually having any pace. It’s technique, burst power, a lot of fat NFL players whom are very heavy have great 20m times. Their top line pace is terrible.

Altough I agree, when you are 1/10 sec faster than S Hill (at near his quickest) over 20m, you'd be flyin

If Longmuir works out as a coach, establishing a decent and successful game plan and galvanises the players, then the players will develop and stay the course. Early days, and I enjoy watching rebuilds. Characters get tested, players emerge and leaders stand up. Our recruiting has built the foundation for that to happen.
I am not a J-Lo hater by any stretch. I hope he gives us mild to moderate success and gives us finals for 2-4 years in a row and a finals win or 2.

As I said. The average span of a Freo coach is 5 years. I have predicted on various threads Justin Longmuir will last 5-7 years. This basically means from 2020-2025ish, both Brayshaw and cerra will spend a fair bit of their prime years under J-Lo.

Given the quality of our young list, I’d expect a bit more than one or two finals wins in the next 5 years. One or two flags would be more like it.

Some impressive numbers here. Andy's definitely not the most damaging player going round, but he has some top notch qualities. Considering his draft doesn't look that good in retrospect he and Cerra seem like the best picks.

1068 – If you had to pick one Freo Dockers player to be in your fantasy team at the start of the 2020 season, the player you would have wanted to pick was Andrew Brayshaw.
With 1068 ranking points, Brayshaw leads all of his teammates in supercoach. He also leads Freo in AFL fantasy with 770 points.

234 – Brayshaw has 234 career tackles since starting his career in 2018. He leads Fremantle over this period, with 30 more tackles than the next best player in David Mundy.

73.7 – Brayshaw has spent 73.7 per cent time in the midfield this season. This is consistent with his previous seasons in the AFL, with 73.9 per cent midfield time in 2019 and 73.1 per cent midfield time in 2018.

65.5 – Brayshaw has greatly increased his kicking efficiency in 2020, running at 65.5 per cent compared to 43.1 per cent in 2019.
His efficiency of 65.6 in 2020 ranks significantly higher than many of the AFL’s elite midfielders, including Joel Selwood (59.3), Dustin Martin (59), Patrick Dangerfield (58.8), Nat Fyfe (55.7), Tim Kelly (55.7), Gary Ablett (54) and Luke Shuey (52.8).

33 – Brayshaw’s disposals against Hawthorn. This was five more than his previous best in round eight against Geelong.
A 30-plus disposal game is impressive enough in a normal AFL season, in 2020 it’s the equivalent to around 41 disposals taking into account the shorter quarters. Incredible numbers for a 20-year-old.

28 – Brayshaw has totalled 28 coaches votes so far in 2020, tied with the likes of Dustin Martin, Toby Greene and Clayton Oliver.
He is the highest ranked Fremantle player in the standings in a tie for 14th overall.

17 – Brayshaw’s 17 contested possessions against Geelong in round eight was also a career high and ranks 12th for the most contested possessions in a game in 2020.

3 – Brayshaw’s also incredibly disciplined, giving away only three free kicks this season, while winning 11 free kicks so far in 2020.

Brayshaw and Cerra our two best players last week, meanwhile pick #3 from their draft can't even make the Carlton team (Dow). We picked well.

Even though some people on this board think I’m a troll 😂 I have been a big defender of both these guys since day one.
Wouldn’t at all be surprised to see them as the top 2 players from this draft in 10 or 12 years time when it all comes out in the wash. The club deserves enormous credit for avoiding the draft busts like Dow and picking the gold like Serong and young in the top 10 last year too. There are a hell of a lot of wasted top ten picks from clubs like Carlton, Gold Coast and GWS in particular over the last decade.

Don't worry mate. People on here with half a clue don't think you are a troll. Just keep on posting how you always have - it's always been within the rules from what I've seen.

Nahhhhh......

I'm sure that Davies-Uniacke is. Every Norf supporter was on here screaming it from the rafters after the draft.

And some Freo supporters to boot.

The problem is LDU is having his career murdered by being played at half-forward. Obviously if Shaw played him in the midfield like Brayshaw and Cerra he'd be winning a Brownlow by now.

Honestly I think LDU is probably going to be the best clearance player out of the lot, and I say that as someone firmly on the Brayshaw train pre-draft.

He's had almost 18 months out with OP but has been really quite good when played in the middle. Even though I think Brayshaw and Cerra are definitively better, I think he'll make a few people look pretty stupid in a year or two.

Hunter Clark is probably up there with him behind our two for the best of the top 10, Dow is just bloody rubbish.

There was talk at the time that UDL work ethic was not up to AFL standards.

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

I'm very happy with the players we got, but in fairness LDU has struggled with OP and current output may be based on lucking out with the unexpectedly durable players then picking the better ones. (Although Brayshaw and Cerra were both better in their first year from memory.)

I'm not here to be fair.......

I actually think he will be a good player he may even be the best. I just enjoy pointing out how dumb it was how people were carrying on post draft.

He was touted as the most ready made player in the draft and is well behind what some others have achieved up until now.

Let's nor forget that Brayshaw didn't even get a rising star nomination. People will be scratching their heads about that one after he wins his 2nd Norm Smirh.

It's actually the other way around. The eye test only counts for so much. If you want to know how quick he is we are going to need a race.
There's also the reaction/thought time that is applicable to games only. Frederick at the moment, you can see he's thinking about what he has to do whereas Brayshaw is 'bam' out of the gate. So in a game (Frederick will no doubt improve) Brayshaw definitely looks faster off the mark. His reaction time to the situation is so much better.

No question Andy is a quick thinker, but that doesn't actually make him run faster, he just gets a head start.

I’m with you LDU has looked pretty good when on the park. Very strong with a killer side step and decent kick, he could still be the best of the draft. But I’m still shitty at the knobheads who were thanking us for our drafting immediately after the draft.
