So who at the club questions him about all this? Kinnersly as the VP? I reckon she would make him squirm in his seat during that chat.

It should be dealt with at Board level. It's not really appropriate for the CEO to have that discussion with someone he reports to.

Yes it would be up to the board to tap him on the shoulder. Definitely not the CEO. Asking for trouble there with a character like Sayers.
If the CEO is being tasked with cleaning this up, our governance is cooked. Cook might be advising Sayers and the VP and the Board generally about options, risks, consequences etc but it’s a Board issue to deal with.
I’m a bit shorted about the silence. Wound have expected some kind of statement, even if something banal like “we’re aware but need to follow due process” etc.
Cook wouldn't be making the decision, but given his experience, he would be part of the process as to the best course of action for the club moving forward
so the knoll wasn't grassy? as I said a while back, he shouldn't be President because of what happened under his watch at PwC, this is just icing on the cake. Find a replacement quickly and move on.

Likely a 'friendly' discussion with Sayers about bringing forward his retirement from the Presidency. Outcome likely a mutually agreed statement that makes no inference that his stepping down as President is due to the photo scandal. e.g. "Spending more time with family" or "More time to discover who is sullying his name". That sort of thing.

But par for the course for our board.
Our president attempts to send a pic to an exec at a club sponsor, play on??
This lack of accountability permeates through an organization.

If that's the case it's just not good enough given it's put a significant commercial sponsorship at risk which is material to the club. This is not just a personal matter.
Seems like the usual tactic of keeping quiet, doing nothing and hoping it just blows over.
He’s gone AWOL. Off all social media and underground. Cannot be contacted for comment (also applying secret service measures in the quest for justice to find the culprit…or culprits, or cult or whoever can be held responsible).

You mean until Sayers is back in the country, so there can be in-depth discussions before formulating a response ?
We would not be naive enough to think that this can be swept under the carpet. I would be very confident the next time we see sayers speaking publicly it will be resigning from his post.
I won't be popular in saying this and I do understand the level of concern in this myopic space but

Who's to say this wasn't a consensual relationship with previous (private) correspondence both ways?
Whilst from a professional perpective this would not be an appropriate relationship unless it was declared, two consenting adults can do whatever they like. If he stuffed up sending it publically, that's on him and shouldn't have lied about it. As the Hells Angels say, "three can keep a secret if two a dead". Assuming he is lying, it will probably bite him on the ass harder than that the original act.
Yes he's likely got a tonne of hurt coming his way regardless. We Just don't know which direction it's coming from yet.
Article just published in the HUN is journalistic speak for “if you aren’t going to comment to us then we’ll play it out publicly in however way we see fit”

The keep quiet strategy only works if the media plays along. The Age is but the HS not so much.
HS will continue to run an article every few days ramping up the pressure.
Usually Caro would have chimed in by now so someone at the Age is mates with LS obviously.
