I feel heaps sorry for him. Yes, he's betrayed the Eagles, but think about it, do you actually think he would have wanted all this shit to happen to him? he obviously has a very serious problem, and i just hope the bloke sorts himself out and ends up being ok. its sad to see someone ruin their life because of drugs

Unbelievable. This little clown is ruining our code. Thank christ he will be booted. Long overdue. I'll save my tears for the baby seals and refugees.

Maybe they thought they'd find more than they did.
Yes I could understand Cousins getting arrested for eratic driving, then them finding drugs and him failing to take a blood test. Thats fine and on its own explains Cousins' situation.

However, Chick was arrested at a seperate location. How could Chick be arrested on the basis of Cousins' problems if thats where they ended. Chick has nothing to do with it. If my friend is busted with drugs or drug driving, that does not mean the police go arrest anyone else they know based on that.

You think Cousins wanted to ruin our game? You think he wants to get arrested? Yes he's damaged the games reputation, but do you have no pity whatsoever? How bad a state must the poor bloke be in for him to do this? Ruin his career, his rep, and probably his life. He's got serious problems, try and have a little bit of compassion. For your sake, i hope nobody you know ever has their life ruined by drugs

Ok. If the reports are true and the are searching the houses of Cousins, Chick.. would they be done by now?

Nah warrants take ages. Got to video the whole thing these days to show police didn't plant anything.

Just saw it on the News. They weren't traffic cops, that was OCI (Organised Crime Squad) doing the pinch. That's what the former Drug Squad call themselves these days in WA after the Royal Commission a few years ago.

OCI only investigate drug matters basically.

They maybe would have had his phone off (telephone intercept) and perhaps listened to him arranging to pick something up from a 'friend' and got him on the way out. Taking him to Traffic HQ is just convenient as it is just down the road from there.

Why would they have his phone off you ask? Well these (TI Warrants) are only approved by Supreme Court Judges when substantial evidence of wrongdoing is presented to them.

Hmmm I wonder what it was.

Of course this is all just supposition on my part.

Is failing to take a test, more serious than possessing the drug without a prescription?

Legal experts??

In Victoria, no, in W.A., I don't know. Section 49 of the Road Safety Act in Victoria explicitly states that a blood test is required to prove a crime has been committed.
There are some seriously dangerous prescription drugs out there, Oxycontin being an example. It goes heroin > morphine > oxycontin. So therefore, possessing a drug such as that is much more serious than not taking a test. I'm not saying Cousins had that, obviously.
But you asked the question.

if it were illicit they would say that in the charge - prohibited means prescription drug without prescription. could be a storm in a tea cup.

And where is that law written?

Pity, none whatsoever. The bloke had a chance to turn things around and threw it away. Why pity him?
