Question remains, Are the AFL and WCE allowed to assume his guilt? I dont think they can

Your previous post was a grasp at the 'hide the real issue' straw. Give it up, maybe you can lead your club to own up and show some real leadership and cut this ugly crap out of it.

Your club had such pride last year, now totally wasted like Ben. He needs help, so does the WCE. Stand up and ensure they listen this time.

What if he is found not guilty then how can they sack him. Surely even someone with a past is allowed to be innocent until proven guilty regardless of what we think or what we think the evidence is. My opinion is that whilst he was in Perth he was always going to be a target for the police so in hindsight maybe he should have re-located somewhere else.

Just the facts ma'am;

AFL star Ben Cousins has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug, WA police said tonight.
Cousins, 29, has also been charged with one count of failing to comply with a requirement to provide blood.

A PDF relating to drug driving (in WA) can be downloaded here;
http://www.officeofroadsafety.wa.gov...icsDrugDriving
(under commonly asked questions).

For a person suspected of drug driving a saliva test is first performed and if that registers positively a blood/urine sample is collected.

The act is quite specific and refers to THC (the active ingredient in cannabis), methylamphetamines (eg ‘speed’ or ‘ice’) and MDMA (eg ‘ecstasy’).

The penalties are quite small. A $200-2500 fine for refusing a test, depending on the circumstances.

Let me get this straight he was never charged for failure to give a blood test and he was charged with poss of a prohibited drug either way he will prob never play football again let alone the eagles so he will now become a statistic and a has been once brownlow medalist but legend status is gone dont get me wrong he is my fav player but un fortunatley its time to go for his own good and saftey well done on wat u have achieved ben

So another WA cover up, from the cops & the weagles, no wonder Benny thinks he can get away with murder if this is true. :rolleyes:

How can the cops come out in the media saying he's been charged on two counts, then a couple of hours later, say it was a minor traffic offence? :confused:

What about the little package of drugs, they showed a cop finding in his car?

Well it does sound rediculous doesn't it.

They issue a media release on a topic that they knew would go crazy across the country....then a couple of hours later say the first media release was wrong. He will now be charged and fined $500. :eek::eek::eek:

?????????????????

This whole thing is getting too crazy. I am tempted to stop reading all this, wait til the morning and find out what the hell is going on !!!! :eek:

Haha. Everyone did a good job blowing this out of proportion. I think Cousins might be a cat because I wouldnt be surprised if hes on the field in 2008

If the Eagles continue to ignore Cousins' off field activities the AFL will deregister him as a player.

I would suspect that Cousins will either be sacked or deregistered by Vlad by the end of the week.

Wouldn't it be ironical if the Eagles lost all their draft picks because of this "bring the game into disrepute" ? After all, I thought it strange when they cut Daniel Chick - suposing the two guys must be doing something dodgy together, and just supposing maybe the Eagles knew something but kept quiet? Just supposing, so no need to get angry and abuse me.

if the west coast eagles had an ounce of integrity, they would get rid of cousins. they already said he was on his last chance. anything less would be showing that they are gutless wonders.

west coast will probably sack cousins,but if they don't they are not gutless wonders.the eagles,like every other team is in this comp.to win.sacking one of the best players ever for this club is something that the club would not do withoutgood reason.innocent until proven guilty.

So what happens if he refuses the test - he just gets a fine and thats that? As I said before, you would only refuse a test if you're on something so Cousins is a junky who will never play AFL again.

I'm sure he'll say the gear that he was caught with was for someone else (he'll probably just say it was his girlfriends - didn't she get left behind after his last run?).
