Blues training on the hun website - docherty did very little as expected. Pittonet and Weitering also in rehab group. Acres trained fully though so he seems good to go
On the vision I saw, Acres looked very sore. Could barely lift his left arm.

Hey, any Sydneysiders in here, is there actually anywhere decent to watch the game or should I just stay home?
When I lived in Sydney I always had two go-to's... the Light Brigade in Woollahra or the Courthouse Hotel in Newtown. Both pretty different pubs matching the vibes of both areas, so I'm sure at least one of them will be to your tastes. They both make AFL a priority so a real rarity in Sydney as I'm sure you're learning.

Remember watching the 2019 prelim between Collingwood and the Giants at the Courthouse... was going absolutely mental by the end of the game.

Light Brigade in Paddo had commentary on the speakers when I was there a few weeks back for a Lions game, hard to get commentary on any sporting games in Sydney at a pub.

Previously enjoyed the Courthouse Hotel in Newtown (don't let Uber take you to the one on Oxford St, had mates done that before), watched the 2019 finals there which I happened to run into some more Lions fans which is always a surprise. To grasshoppers point, went 20018 prelim Pies vs Richmond, USA chants in the front bar and dancing on the tables (somehow a friend didn't get kicked out)

Joyce was terrible in the Reserves on the weekend. Lester has shown that he has got what it takes at this level. He has a good leap, spoils well, is an elite ball user, taken some clutch intercept marks and provides rebound. If Payne is cleared to play, there will be ‘no change’ to the team. As I have said previously, Adcock has done wonders with our defence and we aren’t about to chuck all that in the air against Carlton. To be honest, I really don’t think the ball is going to be in our backline that much.
'3KZ' what are you going to do, when Tom Doedee, likely replaces Lester in the second half of 2024.

Was feeling pretty confident watching the blues scrape home on Friday night, and that’s slowly shifted into worrying about the chance of them doing the same to us on Saturday.

Think it’s more the reality of the game getting so close, and anything can happen on game day.

However, think the original confidence is still there, and we should win by 3-4 goals in the end.

Will be watching from a packed out Fitzroy pub down in Melbourne, going to be a fantastic vibe if we get through.

Goo Liiiooooonns!!!!

Interesting in my workplace of the dozen or so afl followers who all support various Victorian clubs none think we have a chance on Saturday. Im
The only lions supporter and they’ve all got money on Carlton because of form.
I would want 4:1 before I'd put any money on the blues.
Unless our boys shite themselves we are clearly a class better and should win if we bring it.
And I just don't see how we forget to bring it.
Anything can happen , sure , injuries would be our only cryptonite.
There not Melbourne of last year or Richmond of old or even old Geelong which turned out to be not that old. LOL.
We got this .

I can understand why. All finals thus far with the possible exception of the Collingwood -Melbourne game have gone to the form team, and even that exception is arguable. But it's quite unusual for both QF losers to lose again the following week.

Following up from that. Certainly doesn’t fill me with much confidence that he’ll be there on Saturday.

Fitness test 4:30pm on the Gabba turf 45mins before the bounce.
Reminds me of 2009 when Simon black, Bradshaw and one other had to do running drills to prove their fitness before an elimination final against Carlton.

Do we take the risk with him on Saturday, knowing he may blow up and not be right for a Grand Final should we make it?

I'd be inclined to think it's a risk worth taking... neither Collingwood or GWS have enormous forward lines compared to Carlton with McKay included.
