Looking for another good performance from Menegola tonight. I'm wondering if he might be one to benefit from Duncan being out. Has he been a touch more peripheral this season because of Smith coming in and playing well and was his best performance of the season so far coming in the game where Duncan went down early more than a coincidence? Could be a good chance for him to come into form.

As Fagan said they have 4 games finals experience. Selwood has played about 30 finals. It's a big difference. Lions off a 5 day break coming from Tassie. Cats should win. No excuses!

One thing I hate is the ‘finals experience’ quote. In the end that 2007 team had v.little finals experience compared to say North and look what happened.

Ah, I just looked at the ladder. Yeah, still quite tight and it wouldn't be ideal.

Still, you can't expect to win every game, especially against a Top 4 rival at their home ground. I wouldn't be too worried about a narrow loss tonight - losing either of the next two games would be major alarm bells though.

I reckon a win here increases likelihood of loss following two weeks and vice versa.

yeah Fagan always pumps up the tyres of opposition teams. seems like a motivator type coach.

Really depends what Geelong shows up, i would like the Geelong that destroyed Richmond to turn up every week but its not likely to happen, dont think our guys will be intimidated by them however i can see one or both of Selwood and Hawk doing something stupid in retaliation and getting a week, Selwood especially because Robinson will be out for him at every turn.

I reckon the Lions will go very hard at the man tonight, and especially so at Selwood and Danger.

Not feeling overly confident about this one, reckon Brisbane will be treating it like a final and think we will be a bit flat after last week.
Hope Hendo has recovered from his injury because he will definitely be needed with Hipwood, Daniher and McStay for us to contend with.
All the hype about Tommy Stew during the week is probably to our detriment as I expect Brisbane to lock down on him.

Things that worry me.

Home crowd advantage
Umpires will favour the underdogs
Squandering easy shots on goal
Kolo on Charlie Cameron defending against chaos ball entries
Surely the coaches ain't that foolish?

Let's not spend and entire game thread complaining about umpires either.

Leave that to the fans of other clubs. We're better than that.

Go Cats.

Daniel Rioli can't get a game at Richmond and has been asked to play half back in the VFL. This is the sort of gutsy selection/coaching that we don't see at Geelong.

Meanwhile half back Luke Foley is in talks with the Eagles; he would be the perfect swap for Clark if that player wants to go.

There are dashing half backs, some of whom were bargain pickups, coming out of the wood work all over the competition; it would be great if we could snag one to replace you know who.

I never complain about umpires just like cricket the umpire never changes his find so not worth worrying about
Let's be honest the constant changing of the rules doesn't help them.

Anyway, we need to get on top early.
