Lets be honest.

Modern day footballers are instructed to make an impact /hurt their opponent with tackling

Always been the case IMO, these days they have increased their ability to hurt due to tackling technique, although applying the word technique to pinning arms and driving them into the turf is probably a misnomer.

Every footballer at any decent level is told this.

10 years from now football will be touch only, no bumps, no tackling.

If players were actually penalised for incorrect disposal/dropping the ball this wouldn't even be an issue, the AFL yet again have ****ed the game up even more with knee jerk rule changes that have resulted in players knowing there's only a 1/5 chance they actually get pinged for HTB when taking on a tackler, you can throw it, drop it, pass it on and it's in all likelihood going to be play on. Reward the ****ing tackler and you won't see these types of tackles anymore.
