Traded Brodie Grundy [traded to Sydney for #46 and F2]

If you want to slag off players, our BnF winner didn't finger bang an unconscious underage girl at a high school party. So we got that going for us.
Dude seriously.

You Melbourne supporters (like your club) have really become more head f**ked than normal after another straight sets exit.

Take a break and reset.

Wrong, just because Sydney is desperate doesn't mean other clubs have to make it easy for them

If Sydney wants all these players then they ill have to pony up the green. Probably will need to trade other plyers for currency

Desperation check, aisle 3, just past the potato sacks on the right

One club is paying 650k for a VFL ruck who they inherently don't trust, the other club is paying over 600k for an out of position forward flanker who they are balls deep in replacing with a Freo player. Reminder to all, both players are past their prime

Fair value and desperation are obviously in the eye of the beholder.

Took the dog for a walk yesterday at the local park and saw Brodie training/running on his own. He’s a pro was approachable and had a chat …….. life is to short if your not playing him every week let him go to where he wants to go! Lost the dog for a moment Brodie knew where he was and when he came running back he said I’ve got a happy dog 😊

Why even waste your time on this? Sydney offer a shit pick in the mid 40s, we say no. We ask for a good pick in the early 20s, Sydney say no. The trade will get done for something in the late 20s to early 30s or two mid-late 30s picks. Melbourne will then on-trade them for a higher pick with GC. Both clubs are generally reasonable, and the move makes sense for both.

Lol at Melbourne fans thinking keeping Grundy is still an option. After you picked Josh Schache in a do or die final ahead of Grundy. Take a hint guys!

Whilst I agree with you that the Grundy trade is a given, as that was just a failure from the start.
You are off the mark with Adams. Having him as a high forward, swapping with Mitchell all year has been very successful and got us into the position to win the flag.

He also offers leadership and in case you didn't notice, your midfield captain wont be playing for most of the season.

Whilst I would be happy to see Adams get to his preferred destination, don't think for a second, that we are desperate to move him on.

Grundy is a first ruck for most clubs Sydney being one of them. Not his fault Collingwood have a habit of signing massive long term deals then reneging.

Adams is a commodity, seasoned rucks are not, they are rare and no chance Swans find another if this falls through.

We just offloaded Harmes for a F3 who could’ve come to Syd to play the Adams role if needed. These blokes grow on trees.

Harmes sucks

If this falls through and Melbourne have to go through another season of turmoil, distractions, non stop questions at press conferences and an unhappy change room, It wont be Sydney copping the flack, it will be Melbourne getting all the backlash.

Then next year it will all happen again, that time though, the pick will be 50.

You will take a mid 30 pick and move on.

You know you will, so stop your wishful thinking and get real, just for once.
If you want to feel better, the expected trade value is mid 20s.

Thats right but not at yours, so he is superfluous to your needs.
Hence why you won't be paying big money for a reserves ruckman, who doesn't want to be there.

You have Grundy's long term contract, though that isn't a powerful hand in this instance because you also have the best ruckman in the league.

So you must let him go.

Why even waste your time on this? Sydney offer a s**t pick in the mid 40s, we say no. We ask for a good pick in the early 20s, Sydney say no. So much this. These were opening offers both clubs meet in the middle at pick 31, both feel a little bit unders/overs whatever side of the fence you are on. Maybe Sydney add in a swap in the futures for instance a 4th for a 3rd or something

That being said i was surprised myself we immediately offered pick 46 for Grundy which is obviously unders.

We dont typically delay/stall.

It’s about time we did it rather than trying to beat the traffic and trading everyone on day 1

But why? its just time wasting for the sake of it like i rather we moved on to other matters.

It shows we are learning from past poor outcomes in trading. There’s being fair traders which is lovely but there’s being pushovers which you don’t want. It really matters very little if it’s don’t day 3 or day 8. The two trades we are getting done aren’t connected. Adams will be our second

AFL has set the bar with their compensation picks. McKay pick 3 Esava 23 etc…. Grundy still a top 5 ruckman in the competition minimum second round.
