Re: Brownlow Medal

You gave bowden the 3 votes for the worst ever 40+ possesion game??

Im asssuming this because there is no melbourne player in the 3 vote list, and bowden is yet to play a half decent game.

Sorry don't agree!

Yeah i was really tossing up whether to give him the 3 or Aaron Davey. Probably should have gone Davey as he was in the winning team, so i will make a change there.

Re: Brownlow Medal

:p....Nah i've tried to do it properly. Nicky Dal has had 2 really dominant game where he is almost a certainty to get the 3 votes. Gablett on the other hand has had a few games where he has been really good but other Cats players have also had ripper games so he may have got the 2 votes. With Dal Santo up against Kane Cornes this week i expect to see Gary hit the front next week:D

The issue is that other players from the cats will take votes away from ablett, like in last years brownlow count, the matches he dominated and was predicted to get BOG, he didn't. but then again, he polled votes vise versa

Re: Brownlow Medal

Can I see what people have had for west coast round 2 and round 4 (against port and dogs).

Thanks.

I've gone:

Round 2
WCE/Port - 3. ASelwood 2. Kerr 1. Cox

Round 4
WCE/Wbd - 3. Wirrpanda 2. Kerr 1. Cox

ASelwood and Higgins could easily poll in Round 4 though.

Re: Brownlow Medal

I've got:

ROUND 2:
3. D.Kerr
2. A.Selwood
1. S.Salopek

ROUND 4:
3. D.Wirrpanda
2. D.Kerr
1. A.Embley

Re: Brownlow Medal

I've gone:

Round 2
WCE/Port - 3. ASelwood 2. Kerr 1. Cox

Round 4
WCE/Wbd - 3. Wirrpanda 2. Kerr 1. Cox

ASelwood and Higgins could easily poll in Round 4 though.

Swap Kerr and Selwood around for the first game and your spot on. Sure, Adam Selwood got a shitload of the ball, but Kerr's 3rd quarter, contested ball and his more flashy playing style, should see him get the 3. It's been proven that the umps love him.

In the second game, seeing as Cox's disposal wasn't the best and he doesn't have the best form with the umps, I reckon Higgins will get the 1 vote. Considering it wasn't a blowout, I would think the umps would give the last vote to a western bulldogs player anyway.

I've got:

ROUND 2:
3. D.Kerr
2. A.Selwood
1. S.Salopek

ROUND 4:
3. D.Wirrpanda
2. D.Kerr
1. A.Embley

Considering the size of the win, it seems likely that Salopek would struggle to get a vote for that game. If there were any chance of a port player getting a vote in that game, surely Motlop would get it. I think Cox.

See above for why i think Higgins > Embley.

for the record I reviewed my BM votes and I went with this:

ROUND 2:
3. D.Kerr
2. A.Selwood
1. D.Cox

ROUND 4:
3. D.Wirrpanda
2. D.Kerr
1. S Higgins

What did you guys have for round 1 v brisbane?

Re: Brownlow Medal

been looking all over for this thread, haha. good to see that others are looking to be well placed when it comes to placing a few bets at the end of the year.
no idea how accurate my votes are but i guess we'll find out brownlow night.
Eagels VS Lions RD1. I had:
3. T. Johnstone
2. M. LeCras
1. L. Power
(R. Hooper was pretty close to sneaking a vote, found this game tough though, so mainly went with the midfielders who the umps love).
Did anyone catch the carlton vs sydney game this week? Have no idea about that game. Votes would be appreciated. cheers

RShaw/JMcveigh for the swans and Waite for Carlton. Could go in any order really. :p

Your votes look spot on as well. Still think A Selwood deserved the 3 in RD2 though so I'm keeping it that way. And Cox vs Higgins for the 1 point is killing me! :p

Round 1: Bris/WCE - 3. Johntsone 2. Power 1. Le Cras

Re: Brownlow Medal

My brownlow count at the completion of round 4:

10: Dal Santo

9: Ablett

6: Pearce, Judd

5: Murphy, Goddard, Mitchell, Gilbee, Stanton, Kerr

4: Richo, Swan, Tredrea

3: Gibbs, N.Brown, Vince, Edwards, Johnstone, Harding,
Hasleby, Drummond, Chapman, Goodes, Winderlich, Griffen, C.Cornes, S.Tuck, Pendlebury, Lockyer, Montagna , Harvey, Bowden, Wirrpanda

2: McLeod, Power, Moloney, P Burgoyne, Boyd, Didak, Schammer, Bateman, Bruce, J.Bolton, Jolly, Fletcher, Simpson, A Selwood, Waite, Bartel, N.Riewoldt, Aa.Davey

1: Bradshaw, Wiggins, S Johnson, Fletcher, Ball, McDonald, Higgins, Goodwin, Green, Symes, Guerra, Fevola, Adcock, McVeigh, Watson, Cross, Salopek, Akermanis, Dalziell, Boak, Kirk, Corey, Hale, Embley

Montagna will be more then 3. Whilst a lesser light and not as well known as Dal Santo, he has been superb.

Mitchell is not on 5.
He had shockers against Port and Swans.
Against Geelong, the votes will be shared by Ablett, Ottens and S.Johnson in round 1.

S.Johnson is not on 1, he'll be much higher.

Richo on 4 after Richmond lost all 4 games? I think unlikely at best.

Then again, who knows with the biased umpiring.

Re: Brownlow Medal

yeah sorry made a mistake there. It is

- Disposals x (100% - DIsposal Efficiency %) / 2

Thats the exact formula you originally posted (except the bizarrely misplaced capital I :D)

Disposal Efficiency
Disposals x (100% - Disposal Efficiency %) / 2

I think you should consider something with [Disposal Efficiency/100] in it somewhere... the value is up to you of course!

i think there is a minus sign in front
whihc would mean it would benefit a player to have a higher disposal efficeincy

Re: Brownlow Medal

what did people get for melbourne vs adelaide (if anyone deserved actually deserved them) and kangaroos vs richmond. missed these matches so be good to see what people have.
also found it hard to give votes for the anzac day classic, quite a few good performances and a close game so, wondering whether anyone found it easier to give votes for that game.
