Re: Brownlow Medal

for those giving Gaz 3 votes v Brisbane...i have a sneaking suspicion come brownlow night we might see 3 votes to A Mackie...
yeah i agree, not sure if he'll definitely get 3 this round.
3. Mackie
2. Ablett
1. Mooney
maybe something like that?

Re: Brownlow Medal

Gave Goodwin 3 votes, he ripped it apart. S.Thomspson for 2, and B. Miller for the 1.
Goodwin stood out easily though.

What game did you watch?

I agree with Goodwin 3 votes.

But B.Miller with 1?

The only excuse I can see with that vote, is that you watched last Thursday's footy show and want to get into Pia's good books.

Lets recap Brad Miller
5 kicks, 1 handpass, 4 marks, 2 behinds.

Only Goodes could get a brownlow vote with stats like that.

3. Goodwin
2. Tippett
1. Mclean

As much as I rate Mitchell as a player. He is definitely not on 9.

I'm not sure how you slotted him in for 1 on the weekend, with Roughhead (8 goals), Fevola (8 goals), Sewell/Judd - clearly in front on the weekend.

Round 5 - he got 40 possessions - mostly of half back. He will be fighting with Moss and Sewell for the 3 votes. However, lets say he gets 3 there.

Will not get votes for rounds 1,2,4.
At best, he will get 1 for round 1, but that is unlikely as Ablett, Ottens, S.Johnson dominated.

I thought he was very good round 3 and will probably get the 3, but will be fighting for it.

I put Mitchell on 7 maximum, with perhaps no more then 5.

Re: Brownlow Medal

Ablett is also too short in the brownlow for mine.

Round 1 - 3 votes best case, most likely 2, possible 1 (for reasons in above posts)
Round 2 - I didn't watch this match. Lets say 2? With S.Johnson with 4 goals and 24 possessions, Bartel, Richo both playing well.
Round 3- 3 votes to Chapman for mine. Possibly 3 for Ablett, but most likely 2.
Round 4 - Definite 3
Round 5 - Didn't watch. Stats say 3.
Round 6 - 0

So I put Ablett on 12.

How do you figure 6 votes for Hasleby?
Potentially 3 this weekend.
But where else do the votes come from?
Surely not 3 votes for the loss v Adelaide in round 3?
Although admittedly, I didn't see this game.

I don't keep track of my BOG's for each game, so I can't remember which games I gave him votes for.

Re: Brownlow Medal

what did people get for the Carlton vs Fremantle and Kangaroos vs Port Adelaide games? anyone fans of those teams see the matches? since brent harvey's injury i've found it pretty tough to find a player who stands out for north and can attract umpires votes. Maybe Wells.
cheers

Re: Brownlow Medal

Like many others here, I'm recording my own Brownlow votes this year and keeping a running tally. I watched the Saints v Pies game on Monday night with great interest as a heap of Saints are around the mark and I had a dabble on Dal Santo before the start of the season. How did people score that game? So many Saints played well.

You could raffle the 3-2-1 between

Schneider
Riewoldt
Gilbert
Montagna
Hayes
Dal Santo
Goddard

Considering its a typically midfield award and the higher profile players are going to get noticed I went

3. Montagna
2. Riewoldt
1. Dal Santo

Thoughts?

Was an incredibly tough choice for me too. Those were the 3 players I went with, with NDS swapped with Volt.
