Re: Brownlow Medal

3. Beams
2. Anthony
1. Goodes

Beams was the standout for me. Played very well today. Goodes was all right, but not as good as the commentators were making out. Enough for one vote, not two or three, in my opinion. Shaw was unlucky, but this was probably Anthony's best game. I'm almost certain Goodes will get at least two votes, though, maybe three.

EDIT: Not directly related, but did anyone else lol at Judd getting five votes in the Herald Sun POTY award for yesterday's game? Murphy and Gibbs were far more influential from what I saw. I wonder if Judd will poll Brownlow votes over them.

Re: Brownlow Medal

Hayes out of today's game.

Its going to be a great count this year, with very few of the early and mid season vote getters likely to get consistent votes in the final six rounds (probably Goodes and query Swan if in contention at all, might be the only two.)
Could be possible for the round 16, round 17 leader to hold off the pack and claim the medal. These are the players I would concentrate on for quinellas and outright win for his years Brownlow. The final round will yet again be very influential.

Good call as outside of Goodes and Judd the guys we all had high up 5 weeks ago are treading water.

Yep Murphy and Gibbs got jibbed there. And he had Carrazzo over Fevola?

Any chance Robbo done the votes? He seemed to pipe up quickly on Gameday saying Judd's a shoe in for the 3 votes.

Didn't get the paper this weekend. So curious who did the voting.

No it wasn't Robbo.

edit: It was Rob Nicholson. Judd may have been BOG in some eyes but for mine it was either Murphy or Gibbs. Funny really because I'm pretty sure the "Rob" was the vote giver when he gave none to Judd although he was dominant: can't quite remember the game but I was in shock when he gave him none...

It was against the Bulldogs when Robbo admitted on SEN that he stuffed up and probably should have had Judd in the votes.

It was against the West Coast, couldn't find a vote for him in the best 5 on the ground, where just about everyone else had him either best or second best on ground.

Woops, I did it off memory but checked my spreadsheet and it was WC game.
I gave Judd 3 and Murphy 2 that game.

I looked thru Judd's year again last night and part of me says that he can blow them away and win the medal comfortably but part of me feels that Murphy, Gibbs will eat votes and 1 or both of them has been v good in nearly every Carl game that Judd relies on votes in.

I think I've gone looking to give the big names votes over the last few weeks but I'll keep posting my leaderboard anyway.

Re: Brownlow Medal

Last time I looked Brett Harvey was 1.42 for most team votes for North on Centrebet and easily the worst value of anyone.
He could possibly only poll in three games and would need to be BOG in all three to win it and one of those games was a draw.
He has had a terrible year and while it won't take too many votes too win it Harvey is definately not a lock...

Geepers Aussie Gun, ever since you started doing votes how you think umps will vote, your votes almost mirror mine.
I am almost the same give or take at Adel ( 2 horse race between Vince / Thompson ), Bulldogs ( Boyd a good thing for most at dogs ), Syd, Haw, Bris, Coll ( but I don't have Swan so high ), Rich, Freo, WC those 3 v tight but I agree )....I have a differing view at Geel ( tight between Gazza and Selw ), Ess ( tight between Stanton and Watson ), Stk ( Hayes just in front of Goddard, Dal then Montagna ), North ( I have Harvey well in front ).
It makes for a great round 22 !

Re: Brownlow Medal

Collingwood - Dane Swan (Alan Didak)

Didak won our B&F in 2006 and polled in a total of 1 game. Even with his move to the midfield, I just can't see him polling well at all. Pendlebury will outpoll him imo.

Or in other words, Swan is a mortal lock.

could very well be right. swan could potentially even win the whole thing. or he could poll very poorly and not even win the pies votes. im just not convinced.
IMO the only moral for the teams votes is Goodes. for the rest of them, almost anything could happen.

i will be taking a few roughies in my multis i think.

Re: Brownlow Medal

Suban is on Freo's list and played well y/day...25 poss and 2 goals.
No, he was saying AG needed to update his Team Leaderboard, as Suban got 3 votes, yet Broughton is in 5th place with 2, with no Suban.
