Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Still anyone's medal.

22 - C.Judd
21 - D.Swan
20 - J.Selwood, G.Ablett
19 - S.Pendlebury, L.Hodge
17 - L.Hayes
16 - L.Montagna

Don't know how, but my 3-2-1 system has come up with the last three quinellas. Pretty hard to believe yourself come the night though (unless its Ablett/Judd like last year).

Really like this count. :thumbsu:

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Such a shame if this is the case. Gram is one of the premier downhill skiers of the competition, and came into the game when the Saints started dominating. Lenny was instrumental in the first quarter when it was game on, and I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls 1 or 2 considering his polling history.

Didn't catch his game on Grand Final day last year?

My votes:

3. Riewoldt
2. Goddard
1. Gram

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

If Tippet gets BOG he overtakes Thompson on adelaides highest vote getter on my tally

8-Tippet (If he gets 3 2day)
7-Thompson
6-Douglas (if he gets the 2)

he missed some really easy shots so do you think he still gets the 3?

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

I've decided to give my results early this year, fantastic discussion on this thread guys, I'm in a similar position (Judd, Hayes, Pendlebury all to win big) as most and am in agreement with much of what has been said here. Heres hoping we all have another successful season.

Last year I had Swan winning it comfortably, and was dismayed at his poor voting. I wasted a lot of money on the 'assurance' Swan would be up there at the very least, and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be caught blind again.

So this year I have taken a lot more care with my Range forecasts, and am happy with the results so far.

My Real Vote Leaderboard
23 = Judd, Ablett
22 = Hodge
21 = Selwood
20 = Swan, Harvey
18= Hayes
17 = Pendlebury, Bartel

Maximum Votes
32 = Swan
28 = Judd
26 = Hodge, Hayes
25 = Ablett
23 = Selwood
22 = Harvey, Pendlebury, Goddard, Goodes
21 = Boyd
20 = Bartel, Cooney, Watson, Sandilands

Minimum Votes
19 = Hodge
17 = Ablett
15 = Judd, Swan
12 = Cooney, Watson
11 = Harvey, Selwood, Hayes, Bartel, Goddard, Boyd, Barlow
10 = Pendlebury, Goodes

The ranges can be quite high, but I'm hoping all the players fall within their ranges.

An example can be Hayes from the weekend, who has a maximum on 2, a minimum of 0, and was given 0.

In theory any of the 15 guys on the Maximum Votes leaderboard could lift the medal if everything went there way, as Hodge says 19 votes may be enough if all the contenders get screwed by the umps.

In reality though I believe most of the contenders will clear their Minimums comfortably, and several will have to get close to their Maximums.

From my angle it seems to be down to four genuine contenders in Judd, Swan, Ablett and Hodge.

Hayes, Selwood and Harvey are the next tier, and still have to be considered threats.

Pendlebury, Goddard, Goodes and Bartel are outsiders.

And nobody else really has a shot.

If I was a bookie my odds would be as so:
$5.50 = Judd
$6.00 = Swan
$7.00 = Ablett, Hodge
$11.00 = Hayes, Selwood
$17.00 = Harvey
$25.00 = Pendlebury
$50.00 = Goddard, Goodes, Bartel
$100.00 = Others

Good luck everyone.

8-Tippet (If he gets 3 2day)
7-Thompson
6-Douglas (if he gets the 2)

I thought Douglas was pretty easily best on ground, IMO. Gave him the 3 and Tippet the 2.

Cheers mate, pretty similar to yours. I would say both by going by my count and everything else it is down to Judd, Swan, Gaz, Selwood, Pendles and Hodge. I'm pretty happy to risk Hodge now tbh. Had a look and of my top 23, 20 are from the top 8 teams, 13 are from the top 4 and 7 are from the Cats/Pies. Only four from the bottom 8 made the top 23 players last year. I'd say you'd have to be top 6 at least to have a real shot, otherwise you have to poll in too many losses. My count reflects that.

How awesome would it be if all the major bookmakers got a table on brownlow night with BK. I would love to see the "oh f**k" written on Gary Davies face come the end of the count.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but are they not taking multis on highest votes by club this year? Or does it come out after H&A season?

Apologies for the rookie question.

Apparently market with TAB won't be open until after round 22.

No definite confirmation yet as to whether multis will be allowed.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

if brown plays and polls, he will win for brisbane. if not i think black

if sanidlands can poll, he will win. if not it will be VERY close between him and barlow

if someone out of cassisi, cornes, pearce or boak can poll in the last 2 rounds, they will win. it will be very close at port, as many have said STAY AWAY!!!

i have cox on 5-9 votes (had back to back good games in round 7 and 8), priddis on 5 to 10 and le cras on 3 to 6. i dont think any of them will poll in round 22 against geelong but all have been vote getters against nth recently. who ever polls the best here will probably win for eagles. is priddis back?

i have cooney just infront of boyd but cooney will need to poll in at least 1 of the last 2 games to hold on i think

Wow, hope TAB are anything like that! :D

Judd is amazing value to me.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

TAB have just put prices up :

Swan $3.50 ( unders IMO )
Ablett $5 ( Ditto but maybe not way unders )
Hodge $8 ( value now ? )
Judd $13 ( big overs, should be $5 or so after 2 BOG's )
Pendlebury $17 ( overs, Gary Davies obviously doesn't mind the idea of getting sacked if he wins ! )
Goddard $21 ( should be $101 )
Sandilands $21 ( Ditto )
Cooney $26 ( unders )
Goodes $26 ( ditto )
Hayes $26 ( amazing odds again )
Selwood $26 ( ditto really as he could have got 1-3 on weekend )
Others $51 +

I will work thru my leaderboard but on face value I may get more onto Hayes, Pendlebury and Judd. I might wait for Swan to get the blows further top get more on him and I think I'm stuck with nothing on Gazza. They have Carl and then WC at Skilled where Gazza will get 40+ and probably kick 5 !!!!

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

Centrebet and Sportingbet with Judd at $15.

Most of the other main fancies being mentioned in here are the same as the TAB or even shorter. Especially Selwood who is $21 at both.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010

i dont know how some people have tippet about to lead crows....
ive got thompson 13-14
douglas 8-9

pretty amazing, isn't it? I have Tippett on 3 votes and give him absolutely no chance to win Adelaides. I'm really happy he played outstanding on the weekend so hopefully thompsons odds can hover or increase slightly :)
