As it was mentioned earlier, the umpires were being alot harsher to Judd last night. He was done for holding the ball a few times and atleast 2 of them I said I couldnt believe they actually did (because he was Judd not becuse it wasnt). Gibbs and Murphy def deserve the 3 and 2 and Volt well deserves the 1 point. 6 goals is nothing to sniff at and every time he was near the ball the tigers looked very dangerous.
3. Gibbs
2. Murphy
1. Volt

Agreed, I was at the game and noticed that the umpires did seem much more harsh on him than perhaps previous seasons, and he was pinged for holding the ball multiple times. I reckon the umps may have the 'backlash' against Judd's Brownlow fresh in their mind, and coupled with the huge expectations that he has built himself up on, I really cannot see him getting 2 votes in that game, much less 3

The "backlash" factor is pretty crucial here isnt it. I would have thought historically that would poll Judd 2 or 3 votes, but how conscious will the umps be.

I thought Murphy was fantastic (particularly early) and should get the 3. Gibbs gets a lot of uncontested footy and isnt under the umps noses as much as Judd/Murphy. Riewoldt kicked 6, but not enough else to poll a vote I wouldnt think.

For me:

3. Murphy
2. Judd
1. Gibbs - but could be another smokey - Cotchin was great 2nd half?

Well my opinion is that if Judd gets 2 or more votes here then the brownlow is his. As i mentioned before umps were definitely more harsher and he only had the one good quarter i was keeping an eye on him and his first 3 quarters were very average. That will prove that he doesnt have to do much in a game again this year to get votes.

Cotchin was god 2nd half but was shithouse the first half. I think he only had 3 posessions in the first half. He didnt do enough to get a vote imo

Lenny having a good game and is forever loved by the umpires. His inside work may be more noticed with Selwood getting injured as well.

3. Bartel
2. Corey
1. Hayes/Scarlett

Bartel and Corey really kept Geelong in the game and same with scarlett. And Lenny was just always there through the whole game and almost dragged them across the line.

3. Bartel - Kept them in the game and won the ball all night, polls well
2. Enright - great run all night
1. Dal Santo/Hayes - most likely to get the 1 vote but its really up for grabs

Really hard game to be certain on with hayes, dal santo, enright, corey all fighting for votes.
One things for sure was bartel 3. brought them back in the game and deserves 3. im going to go with hayes for 2 and enright for 1. dal santo only just missing out

3. Bartel
2. Hayes
1. Enright

Tough game to give votes but considering it was a tight contest I think the last quarter will definately be in the umpires minds when voting and these 3 stood up the most IMO. Dal Santo, Scarlett, Corey, Taylor in the mix. Votes could go very differently.

Also good to see a bit of variety in opinions in votes, means no groupthink which is good.

3 - Enright/Bartel
2 - Bartel/Enright
1 - Raffle (Hayes/Corey/Taylor/NDS)

I think Enright should get the 3 but given Jimmy has good polling history maybe he grabs the 3. For the same reason Hayes for the 1 vote.

Cheers

Was at the game and I think all the votes are effectively a raffle, but I'll give it a go, but I'm a bit wary giving the votes to the key defenders, but I guess it was low scoring.

3 Bartel
2 Taylor
1 Scarlett.

Didn't think any of the saints stood out, their midfield was second to the ball for most of the night. This may be my Geelong bias showing through

I can't believe so many of you are including enright for 2's and even a 3 it simply won't happen, he has been all australian 3 years in a row and has polled a grand total of 5 votes in those 3 years, 1 is the absolute maximum he would get from that game, they don't even know who he is - at one stage he got a free and the umpire said "free kick to Joel Corey"

3. Bartel
2. Hayes
1. Taylor/Corey/Enright/Scarlett

3 - Bartel
2 - Hayes
1 - Enright

Bartel was good all game and had a really good last, from the winning team, kicked an awesome goal, think he will get the 3. Hayes got a LOT of frees from memory, kicked an important goal and had a great last quarter. Enright probabaly was the most consistent player of the whole game and should be in the votes.

always tough to pick in the real big blow out losses, will the umps feel like they "owe" swan votes for last years loss ? if they're tossing up b/w him and another player? swan to get 3 imo
