That wasn't even offered, it was #13 and a 3rd
And we were pigheadedly sticking to 2 x 1sts. The obvious middle ground is a 1st and a 2nd.

Two first round draft picks? Come on man. We were asking for overs.
Look, I've said my bit. Im highly disillusioned with the club, and think this is a sliding doors moment that we'll look back on as a massive missed opportunity. My bet is this backfires on the club spectacularly.
Im incredibly dissapointed with the club right now.
IMO retaining a disgruntled senior player against his will doesnt help young Cripps at all.

We always pay overs.Spewing we lost Pick 135.
Lift your game SoS.
I agree with you....This is a disaster and puts our rebuild back. You reckon Gibbs is going to give it his all next year for us? Not questioning his professionalism, but people are people.
We've just been pigheaded and retained a senior player against his will. I highly doubt I could play at my peak with a gun to my head.
This dance happens again next year, and his value will be even less. If that doesn't work, he walks the year after, at 30 years of age and uncontracted for a packet of twisties.
It was shockingly bad list management by the club.
Because he had a heavily front ended contact and having served the 2 already Carlton wanted fair compensation considering he had 3 years remaining. If Bryce was not contracted we would of received pick 6. Perhaps the way Adelaide valued Bryce and released a press conference to announce it was part of the reason. Not trolling just a legitimate question.
Gibbs is a 10 year player who had legitimate reasons for needing to go home. He showed his intended loyalty by signing a long term deal and turning his back on free agency. Why are you happy you are screwing over a player who showed genuine loyalty until he had a legitimate reason to leave? Adelaide didn't do this, Gibbs approached Adelaide. Regardless of whether or not each clubs supporters think their own clubs won or lost this non trade, I just know Gibbs and his family, maybe his personal life circumstances took a massive blow tonight. Gibbs is the massive 'loser' in this deal. Toying with a players personal circumstances when serious is purely disgusting by anyones standards. More to life then footy.
It was 13 + a 3rd (whcih is unders). We wanted 13 + a 1st (which is way overs). Clearly there is room to move between a future 1st and a future 3rd.
Collingwood declared their hand with Shaw and he had on-field and off-field issues...Their offer is the same they paid for Tambling. Richard. *******. Tambling.
We wanted Burgoyne like compensation...a bit less even.
Heath Shaw went for the equivalent of pick 10.
13 and something in the 16-17 range for Gibbs is entirely reasonable.
Im not whinging. I'm criticising the decision and the stance by the club. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.
STICK THIS UP YA ADELAIDE
ADELAIDE STATEMENT
The Adelaide Crows were not prepared to meet Carlton’s unrealistic demands in a trade for Bryce Gibbs.
Officials from both clubs met several times in recent days and ultimately could not come to an agreement.
Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said the Club had explored every avenue to strike a deal.
Not trolling just a legitimate question.

I have big questions regarding SOS and his stubborness.
Other clubs move forward and get deals done.....
We now have recruited three blokes that have been all injured for the last 2-3 years.......
And gotten rid of a solid half back flanker who hardly misses a game.
I wonder whether our wonderful Board is happy ????
My son and I are pretty disgusted with our efforts !!!!!
No, he's wearing Navy Blue. Should he disrespect it after this in any way or not put in total effort (could be challenging, he's been accused of that even without all this go home stuff, being he can look laconic) than you can understand people jeering him maybe. Is anyone gonna boo Gibbs in round 1?
So how did your club's trade period go? You did pick up some other players didn't you?oh well, Gibbs will retire from your club without a premiership.
Holy shite, I thought you edited the link to be funny, but it actually says that
