Dreaming if you think Brisbane would do that deal

Go float that on the Brisbane board so we can watch them laugh at you

I'd do it as long as we downgraded 21 (our only second rounder) to about 30 or so before making the trade.

OK mate, none of those are quite in the same class as Gibbs and you know it...not at the time of the trade happening anyway.

Plus it was in response to the idea that you would prefer Prestia, JOM, Mitchell etc to Gibbs.
While that might be true, convincing these A graders to join your club isn't that easy, so you need to make the most of the opportunities you get.

Not that hard to understand.

Actually betts is far ahead of gibbs. More AA in the last two years than Gibbs has had throughout his career. Also Scott Thompson has been a better player than Gibbs over the journey.

Gibbs leaving stuffs up our midfield and our capnif we replace him.

I believe he has taken the majority of his contract frontloaded and leaving when the smaller money kicks in. We would be well within our rights to expect him to honour that or try for overs to address that somehow.

Because Adelaide give two shits how his contract was weighted...
There is no way that will affect the trade, even if Silly SOSage thinks it will.

Like Carlton give two shits what you or Adelaide think.

Thing is, you need 13 for Pickett and Marchbank. If a Gibbs deal doesn't happen, it's goodbye Marchbank and Pickett, considering you won't be giving up pick 5.

A deal will happen which hurts both sides a little, but also benefits each side.

Correct.

The Blues want to keep their pick 5 and surely they realise that Gibbs will not be a part of their next premiership team. But pick 5, Marchbank and Pickett are all a chance of that.

Let Gibbs go home, obviously there is personal reasons why he needs to come home that we are not all privy too. Show some compassion Carlton. Pick 13 for Gibbs alone is fair remuneration. Crows may offer a second rounder and while that would be overs, I can accept that too.

Did Gibbs hate carlton so much that instead of leaving in FA he signed a front loaded 5yr deal with a plan to bolt after the loading finished? Wouldn't want to keep someone like that would u carlton supporters?

Correct, so just give us Gibbs for a price that is reasonable and we'll be on our way.
SOS has gone from smooth operator to a toddler throwing his toys out of the cot in 2 years.

We are not giving you anything. Make some moves to facilitate the trade. Don't just sit there and go these are our picks, these are the 1 or 2 players we don't want to squirrel away. Make something happen.

Pick 13 and a potato is not reasonable

Pick 13 and McGovern, Cameron or Lever is reasonable

LOL make something happen?
Gibbs is not worth giving up a gun 22 year old.

If that's the case keep him and he can rot for the next 3 years.

Imagine the roles reversed. Its like us going we want Wietering or Cripps only and your first pick.

What would you say?

Then Adelaide is not being reasonable and will not get Gibbs

Why do you think Gibbs is worth so much?

Its just mental.

Talk of Goldstein going for pick 12... he is worth a bucket load more than Gibbs just FYI

So as a West Coast fan you'd be happy to part with Pick 12 and McGovern to bring Gibbs in?

Gibbs is Carlton's best player that is why he is worth so much to lose in this case

If Goldstein goes it will be for more than pick 12

So the names we have put forward are equivalent to Weitering or Cripps?

And you reckon we overrate our players.

No, but its still ridiculous to suggest that you want a first round pick AND an under 23 best 22 player playing at first round pick level.
So you want two picks in the top 15 for Gibbs, a guy with 1x AA 1x B+F. You're acting like we're trying to get Chris Judd or something.

Arguably Lever will be as good as Wietering.

I actually tried to find equivalent under 23 players for Carlton but they are the only 2 that are any good.

What?
Cripps is a far better player than Gibbs has ever been, and its his 2nd season.

Plus, its really not of our concern if the rest of their list is rubbish. Pretty irrelevant.
