Traded Bryce Gibbs [traded to Adelaide] - (cont. in Part 2)

Adelaide chased Gibbs because they need another quality mid to win finals.

Gibbs is contracted for the next 3 years so Carlton are rightfully asking top dollar.

Adelaide fans can talk Gibbs value down and their players value up as much as they like, but that won't change the fact that it's a sellers market in this instance.

Adelaide really want him so they will find a way.

Carlton have every right to ask for an unbelievable trade. Worse case he stays on and honors his contract. If he wanted to come to us he should have done it 2 years ago when we would have got him for nothing and Carlton would receive a first rounder. I would hate to think what is crows supporters would want if sloane requested a trade. 3 first rounders cripps and weitering would be on most AFC boards. If we get him great. You can never have too much class, If we don't we keep our pick 13 and move on. To be honest I don't think Gibbs in our team would have won is the game against the swans.

Or Gibbs told Adelaide he'd ask for a trade to them and Adelaide said ok. Therefore Adelaide have no obligation and will walk away if asked for too much.

Carlton fans can act they know whats going on within Ade, their club and Gibbs mind but the actual sources haven't really explained whats happened..

Carlton lose nothing if the trade doesn't go through.

Adelaide need Gibbs.

Adelaide will find a way..

You lose pick 13 - whether that has more value for Carlton than Gibbs is obviously a matter of personal opinion.

It's true

Crows need Gibbs more than Blues need Marchbank
Sos will play the waiting game until an hour before trade deadline as Crows recruiters crack
Shortly after we will then trade on 13 for Caleb

If Adelaide were trying to identify a gun midfielder to bring in, it wouldn't be Gibbs. Not that he's not a good player, but he's too old. We'd have a go at Prestia, Shiel, Rockliff, Sidebottom, Neale, Martin, Hunter, O'Meara, etc

Hell, you'd even go for Lewis over Gibbs considering what the price of the deal is, and the premiership class Lewis brings over Gibbs

The idea that the Crows wanted to beef up their midfield and identified Gibbs as the target above all other midfielders in the comp is laughable.

No doubt we want him on our side no team would say no to him, unfortunately for the other teams he will only attempt to leave to live in SA

Roo has clearly said their is a line in the sand or we can't trade so that line is where it is at and since Roo has arrived the club isn't a shambles like when trigg was in charge.

I'm comfortable with what we have but Gibbs would be good at the right price but Roo will be strong enough to decide that and I have all confidence in him to do so

It's laughable how much some of you crows fans down play gibbs' value.

Here's hoping you go after the 31 year old Lewis, the injury prone omeara or the unwanted Rockliff. We are happy to keep Gibbs..

No one is playiong down what gibbs is worth but its not all upside due to his age, I am quite confident though that if the Crows dont feel its fair and reasonable they will walk away we may not find out until the last two minutes of trade week and if thats the case Im not concerned! Roo has made they call and like all crows supporters since he has arrived Trigg has gone and all decisions made by the club have been the right ones, there are no leaks from the club on anything, he is the ultimate straight shooter so I think we all know he wont be paying a high price for a 28 year old.

Everyone keep using 28 year old to lower his value. He is 27. He turns 28 in March.

If you say 28 now it makes it sound like her will turn 29 during his first season there. He won't.

He will be 30 for the entirety of his 3rd year. He doesn't project as a player who will be a broken down hack early. Very durable and does not rely on his pace or athleticism.

Very much a vision, time and space player with good skills and very versatile if midfield becomes too much in the future.

100+ games left in him, no problem.

Obviously Roo and the crows know what they are willing to pay they have a figure in their mind and no doubt his age and his past performances Ie B and F's and results will be taken into consideration he truly isnt one of the comps elite players to suggest he is up there with the Dangers or Fyfes even Dusty Martin is ridiculous, but he is a good player and a 1st pick should be on the table but how much more is known by the crows and will be offered probably in the last two miuntes of trading hahahahaha but the majoriity of crows supporters have full faith in Roo and Fagan and if they decide to walk away I am confident with the team we have we will make the next step I can see both Crouch boys being one fantastic players infact I could see Brad overtaking Sloane even thsi year and with Cameron and Milera coming through we will have an elite midfield

carlton have every right to ask for a quality player in return but any player there consider worthy of
letting Gibbs go to Adelaide would not consent to the trade at all

so right know it is a game to see who will blink first.

All the Adelaide moaning on this thread is tiring, if they want him they have to pay what Carlton wants. If that doesn't happen he stays a Blue. Adelaide need to put up or shut up, not Carlton.
Thing is, you need 13 for Pickett and Marchbank. If a Gibbs deal doesn't happen, it's goodbye Marchbank and Pickett, considering you won't be giving up pick 5.

A deal will happen which hurts both sides a little, but also benefits each side.
