Buddy, legend.

Period.

P.s. Stevie J's got 376 goals from 188 games and Boomer's up to 396 goals from 337 games.

No love for Roughead? 6 goals today and that takes his career total to 282 goals from 149 games, going at almost 2 goals a game which is outstanding! Also he needs another 18 goals to reach 300! :thumbsu::)

Roughead joins Ben Dixon on 282 goals, but Dixon took 203 games to kick that many.

In kicking those six goals, Roughead overtook Gerard Healy (276 goals in 281 games), Rex Hunt (276 goals in 202 games), Jack Green (276 goals in 126 games, including 167 goals in 40 games for Hawthorn), Claude Curtin (276 goals in 97 games), David McKay (277 goals in 263 games), Paul Vander Haar (278 goals in 201 games), Bill Goggin (279 goals in 248 games), Arnold Briedis (279 goals in 161 games), Rene Kink (280 goals in 181 games) and Mickey Crisp (281 goals in 183 games).

It's worth also sparing a thought for Tom Murphy who kicked his first goal for Hawthorn in five years and 79 games. His fourth goal came more than five years after his third, which he kicked in Hawthorn's round 7, 2007 loss to Fremantle on 13 May 2007.

Josh Gibson now holds the current streak between goals as he has not kicked a goal in his 49-game (so far) career with the Hawks.

Go back to Draft Day 2004. New Hawthorn coach Al Clarkson is showing off 2 guys that, whilst raw, are about double his height. One is our top pick, J Roughead. The second is our "speculative" 2nd pick, one L Franklin. Now, imagine your future self got in a time machine and appears beside you.

"See those two blokes..." your future self says.

"By the time their careers are done, one will be one of only 4 Hawks to kick more than 500 goals, the other one of 9 Hawks to kick more than 300 goals. Now, which one do you think is which?"

You would have seriously headbutted that nutter.

"More likely they will be the next Simon Minton-Connell you f*!ng fruitcake" is the only logical response possible.

How amazingly blessed have we been with those 2 blokes? Oh and our 3rd pick from that draft isn't too bad either.

The best top 3 club picks Hawthorn's ever picked up.

Credit to the big bloke for getting back above 50% accuracy (ignoring OOB) for the season. Hopefully he maintains the recent accuracy throughout the rest of the season.

I recall being at the Hawks' family day in late 2004 and my friend getting a photo with Buddy because she reckoned he'd end up being a better player (or have more impact) than Rough.

Are you really sure that was her reason?
