I've just realised...Brendon Fevola kicked 623 in 204 games! Who knows what he could have kicked if he was a 300 gamer..

Edit: Where would Buddy end up once he retires?

Interesting one

He realistically could play past 300 (given where he sits now) but, tall bodies don't tend to hold up as they age

He is more of a Goodes type athlete though and at 32 this is his first injury interupted year

I hope he ends up with more goals than Matthew Lloyd.

When was the last time a player kicked 10+ goals in a game, TWICE in one season? That would be a great feat for Buddy to achieve. Unlikely, but would be awesome

I'd say there'd be a great opportunity in the coming weeks for him to aim for another batch of 10. He just has to kick straight...

Oh, okay.

40 behinds already! That's terrible even by Bud's standards!

Can't believe he kicked 31.9 in 2006.

Take the good with the bad when it comes to Buddy :)

I hope he ends up with more goals than Matthew Lloyd.

Despite Franklin playing higher up the ground, he should still kick just as many, if not more goals than Lloyd in a time where it's harder to kick goals. Franklin is already universally regarded as a better player than Lloyd ( apart from a couple of Essendon dribblers like Call me Cake, Kong and jade_00 ) and he is only half way through his career. Franklin is going to end up with more All Australians & more Coleman medals than Lloyd. He has better defensive pressure than Lloyd, tackles more than Lloyd, he is also a better athlete and is more versatile. And Buddy has a much better record in big finals games than Lloyd.

Sorted by average goals per game over career span. Isn't it strange Buddy's currently # 23 on this list??

Article in today's HS talking about Buddy's chances of reaching 1000 goals in his career.

If he keeps up his goals per game average of 3.7 (since 2007) he is likely to achieve 1000 goals after around 290 games or so, and provided he stays injury free will be around 31-32 years of age.

Despite Franklin playing higher up the ground, he should still kick just as many, if not more goals than Lloyd in a time where it's harder to kick goals. ^ Well put, all going well he'll get 700+, that's many pleasurable years away. Buddy :hearts:

everytime i come to this thread i still cant believe the figures at number 17 and 43. must have been an amazing players!!
would have been awesome if knee recos were the norm all those years ago and both coleman and hudson actually played full careers.
their numbers would have been unbelievable!!

Be great for us if he could be on top of this list by the end of the season.

Really needs another big bag if he is going to get up with the other current players.

12 against Carlton is two weeks time would be a start.
Now now, don't get greedy CLA :D
Would love him to kick his 500th against the same team he scored his 100th in a season against though. Give them something additional to remember him by

Would take even money about Franklin being the leading scorer against every opposition club within a few years.
