Autopsy Bulldogs defeat Hawks

Can't say i am surprised. It's been a frustrating season and we have been ordinary to watch throughout. We never really hit our straps.

We had two home finals and lost them both, can't have any complaints. Interesting times ahead.

Hey sorry for the intrusion but for next year do you think you guys will be targeting sucked in for losing last night lol
Enough with these assholes.

Learn some manners....

I think this tells the story - we were the first to the ball a lot more - thats our strength as a team, and thats why you had so many tackles.
We have a lot of contested ball animals in the midfield and we are extremely well practiced at wearing tackles and getting constructive handballs away in tight. Your team has not thrived on the hard ball this year, and for Hodge and Mitchell combined to win less contested ball than 3 bulldogs is nothing to do with out 'tactics'.

I thought Clarkson was classy in defeat except for the above passage where he is off the mark and basically giving our midfield group a backhander. We won 40 more contested balls because we had the capacity to win them and we wanted it more.

Think you've missed his point.
AC gave your players their due for winning the ball, he questions how Doggies players disposed of it at times when being tackled.

Regardless, matters not at all. WB too good, now go and win yourselves some memories that last a lifetime.:thumbsu:

No i knew from about round 3 or 4 that it wasn't going to be our year.
Sorry, but I can't take anything you say seriously anymore.

Clubs are still ironing out their gameplan and changing it at Round 10, and here you are doing the "I'm just a realist, I knew we wouldn't amount to anything by Round 3".

**** off.

Did you know that before Smith's kick in the qualifying final. What if that had gone through, would it have been a wasted year?

Seriously, you knew squat. It's real clever to believe that you have had 20/20 since that time, but the truth is you only have it with the benefit of hindsight.

You've got to understand that your team and Luke Hodge in particular has bullied, belittled and smashed teams, our team especially, for a decade now. We hate Hodge for all that he has done to us and others, and yet he is also who we look up to...we have wished for years to have a player who could intimidate and destroy opponents like Hodge (and maybe in Bontempelli that guy might have arrived.)

Hodge's antics in demanding of the umpires that a point be awarded for his alleged touch early in the game set the crowd off - they reacted to yet another instance of Hodge bullying and standing over those around him to impose his will.

You should be proud that we booed Hodge. I'm sure that he understands exactly what it was about...the most sincere validation of his greatness.

The bladed area makes no sense…he appealed that he touched the ball which he had…he reacted in the same manner any other player would in that situation

I would never say this in the bay (so no quoting me there!) but if I was a hawks fan this is precisely how I would be feeling about my team. 3 flags, 4 grannies and 5 prelims in a row. As a fan you couldn't ask for more.

Now if you're going to take Tom Mitchell, give us Cyril!

This is going to be posted on the Bay.

It's more about who he is, his history, the whole Hodge legend and persona. Some of you Hawks supporters seem to understand that, others not. I can't explain it any more clearly. It's not about what Hodge did as much as it's about who Hodge is.

Dropping the ball in a tackle after holding it long enough to boil eggs is considered by some clubs to be illegal, you guys have been able to do it all season, for some reason you get away with it where no one else does. I was rooting for you guys at the start of the season, watched a few games and started to realise what a run you get from the umpires. You guys had some devastating injuries this season which you have overcome amazingly, it's just a shame half your wins are tainted by a flaunting of the rules. Not necessarily last night, but by azura! you guys need to learn how to handball.

This is the story youre trying to sell, but that doesnt make it so - we are just really, really good at not getting wrapped up in the tackle. If you remember back to the days of mcartney thats pretty much all we ever did - play man on man, kick long down to line to the next stoppage and practice 'cracking in' at training.

We do tend to throw it a bit, but nowhere near as much as AC would like to weave into his narrative.

nah, I get it, it just doesnt make sesne. Read what he said about the CP differential - Apparently we are trained not to expect a holding the ball decision so that gives us some advantage when contesting the ball ... or something. Ah, never mind, I think he was just rambling. after game press conferences must be a hard gig.

Thanks for your response earlier.
Hodge questioned an umpiring decision...Your fans started booing him. Fairly straight forward. You've wrapped it up in persona. That's ok we get it.
