Re: Burgoyne deal done!!!

Surely Essendon get something more from Port...

Burgoyne is not worth pick 9 and 16 and Williams isn't worth pick 16...

From the current details Port Adelaide have r*ped Hawks and Bombers despite the fact that junior burger wanted out...

Well surely there's more involved.

Otherwise Hawks have swapped Burgoyne for pick 9 + Williams. Epic lose :D

So the fourth club must be giving a bit to Essendon and a bit to Hawks? In exchange for what though? anyone know?

Re: Burgoyne Deal Done

TRADE NEWS: Essendon set to have picks 10, 24, 26 and a pick in the low 30s, along with Mark Williams but lose pick 16 and Nash to Power

If that is true I have no idea why everyone is complaining... We did very well out of that deal. Pick 16 to pick 24 as well as Mark Williams and a pick from 30-35. Jay Nash was going to be delisted anyway.

Re: Burgoyne Deal Done

I reckon it's been awesome, I am stoked!! :)

You should not be stoked at all my friend.
You traded one of your best players for pick 16 when melbourne traded brock mclean (who is not in the same league as lovett) and we got pick 11.

Not to mention you then traded pick 16 to get Mark Willams who is mediocre at best and one thing u dont need is a small forward with handy guys like Davey and Reimers.

Anyone, just one mans opinion

Geelong was the other team:

"The Cats were also able to secure picks 40, 42 and 56 in return for pick 33 as part of a complicated multi team deal involving Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and Essendon."

It is pretty weird isn't it... Giving up 33 for 3 later draft picks... Hmmm

Geelong is really trying to bring in some youth with eyes to the future (as well as salary cap), they have a fair few picks now when you add in the Mumford one.

Re: Burgoyne Deal Done

Essendon

Out: Pick #16 , Nash

In: Williams , pick #24 , pick #33.

Very very happy with this result.

Add in the fact that Essendon got the best possible deal for Lovett and it has been a very good trade week for us.

We traded Lovett for Williams & picks 24 + 33.

I don't count Nash because we would've delisted him anyway. We did very well.

Re: Burgoyne Deal Done

the people who are saying essendon got rolled...............wtf

essendon killed it

out : lovett & nash
in : williams +24 +33 or something

nash would of been delisted they got pick 33 for him
and they ended up getting williams & 24 foe lovett

good work bombers.

I dont believe picks outside the top 20 are too valuable.

Outside the top 15 this isnt a very deep draft all.

In saying that the top 15/20 seems almost as good as any other
