Your club had a reason for not waiting until tomorrow. They are tied up with other clubs in this trade as well, it's give and take.

Port are the big big winners with Picks 9, 16 & Nash.

Burgoyne is an absolute superstar when on song, he is the closest thing to Judd at his best.

It's a shame the Hawks dont have a ruckman, could they possibly talk Lade out of retirement for a year?

I truly hope that this isn't the case. Essendon got royally screwed if this is true. We need to get at least pick 28 and Mark Williams to make it close to fair. Therefore I propose:

Hawks Get - Shaun Burgoyne, Pick 40
Hawks Lose - Pick 9, Mark Williams, Ben McGlynn

Essendon Get - Mark Williams, 28
Essendon Lose - Pick 16

Port Adelaide Get - Pick 9, Pick 16
Port Adelaide Lose - Shaun Burgoyne, Pick 40

Think of it this way, Lovett was going regardless, we could have gotten nothing for him, instead we have gotten Williams who has potential to kick 2-3 goals a game, we have gotten rid of Nash... WOOT! Kept all our original picks and picked up pick 24.
Why are people so pesso about this trade, I love it he is a big game player too.

Not happy losing pick 16.. effectively traded Lovett for Williams now.
It is reported there are 3 of Port Adelaide's picks (2nd rounders and above) that are to be distributed to Essendon and Hawthorn. Hopefully pick 24 is coming Essendon's way at least..

Yep, I just read the other pick is 33.

IMO we have done very very well. We saw a way to exploit a difficult situation and obtain a player we obviously fancied.

Considering Nash was more than likely going to be de-listed, we have moved down 8 places in what is effectively the second round and gained Williams and 33.

In; Williams, 24 & 33

I like Williams as a player and think he has a lot he can potentially add to our team. 60+ goals in two seasons when he was the primary target is nothing to be scoffed at, he has a great kick and performs in finals (c/f Andrew Lovett).
