Mazal you are a plonker, carrying on like a pelican in every VAFA thread known to man. Did Ajax win a practice game? I would suggest they are in a bit of Barney Rubble.
My tip for Round 1 is that Beauie will knock off whoever they play by the best part of 40 goals

Gee I was unlucky copping 2 weeks from headquarters....a superstar like me!

Will have to wait until Round 3 to tear this comp a new one

Old Geelong no hope without Colby O

Ajax over Melb HSOB 106 to 100.

Fast finishing MHSOB reduced a 4 goal 3/4 time deficit to less than 1 but couldn't land the killer blow.

3 players (2x MHSOB, 1 Ajax) with serious injuries in first qtr

Rd 2 Tips from me are:-

Mazenod v O Geel
Monash v Beauy
Parky v Caulfield
Ajax v Oakleigh
Bulleen v MHSOB

5 from 5 last week, tougher round this though I think!
Thoughts anybody???

How are the Nodders looking? I was really surprised when I saw they won by 100pts.
Can anyone give me a run down on the game...
Were they that good? Or, will B-Temp not give anything this year??

Hard to tell where anyone's really at after only one round. I would suggest Bulleen Temp are going to battle a bit this year if they can't get themselves up for Round 1 coming up a grade. Hopefully they can turn things around this week against the High.

The Anzac Clash between Bulleen Temp and MHSOB will be huge for both teams. Each coming off a loss to tough opposition. In Bulleen-Temp's case they're unfurling last years flag, playing first home game of the year and looking for some respect after last weeks annihilation ..... unlikely to lose again this week I'd dare say.

They'll have to play their own ground particularly well.
MHSOB played 3 quarters of pretty shocking footy to only go down by a goal against AJAX and even then missed a multitude of chances to take the game.
I don't think your bet is as safe as you think it is.

IIRC, Bullants were 9-0 at Ajani last year...

They were very good - well drilled and disciplined in the way they ran and supported - certainly a step up in class for BT. I am not sure the scoreboard told the entire story thou. 9 goals straight last term was painful to watch....

BT will be ok this year - expecting a few to come back in over the next month or so. We are a very young team and looking forward to each contest.

No flag unfurling this week thou - proud ANZAC day tradition involving local WW2 legend. Last post and all.

my tips for this week are:
Mazenod v O Geel
Monash v Beauy
Parky v Caulfield
Ajax v Oakleigh
Bulleen v MHSOB

im expecting few close ones this week however i feel beauy will beat monash by 60 points as they are very strong side this year. Expecting Scotty Gower to back up form last weeks performance as he has been very good on the track.

You'd be kidding Baz, Monash will give Beauy a fright. The kids will be a lot better for the run against Caulfield. Winners this week:

Mazenod by plenty
Monash at home
Fields too strong (Carboni is a gun, be warned)
Jackas maybe
High but only just

Carboni is not a bad player, but he played last year when they barely won a game. The Fields strength has possibly come from that U/19s losing Grand Final side and the injection of a decent coach. I'd suggest the Sharks v Fields game will be somewhat of a rematch, with Lawrence's guidance being the difference.

keano what are you on about the sharks gave monash a nice touch up and were never in the game! watch out c grade beauy will go undefeated this year and will win the flag in straight sets! another stellar game by jason" the ablett" misfud and his partner in crime( starsky and hutch) marcus lee waxing very well together! there wont be one side that will get even close this year to beauy and its only round 2! GO SHARKS! There a happy team down there!

MHSOB did it easy all the way across the ground over Bulleen/Temp and from what was seen it is going to be a MASSIVE struggle this season for BT.
Not sure where I see a win coming from to be honest.
Thinking the step up is one too far.

Why don't we wait until Beauy, Mazenod or Caulfield face off. Then we'll know a little more. Not to mention it is early days, depth will count for a lot.

I think you're right Keano. Lets just wait and see before we put Beuay, Mazeond and Caulfield up there. By the sounds of it on the weekend Caulfield only just got across the line with Parkdale having more shots on goal.
Carboni has been around for a few years. He is a very good player but lacks defensive qualities. When we played him, once the ball was turned over he would still run around on his own and would not know who his man was. We punished him on that. Also get in his ear. He starts whinging and will get sidetracked.
Look out for Oakleigh to improve once Bromley returns from a stint at trying for the NFL. He can kick the ball a friggn mile. One other to look out for is Jesse Pearce of MHSOB. I've heard a bit about the boy. He looks a good mover and is impressive. Watch him around the goals as he doesnt mind them.
