Rumour Cal Twomey gives himself a reach around

Eg In 2020:
Cal should say Will Phillips is also slow and has a poor outside game

That’s why I don’t think he’ll make it as an afl player

If my man Kane Cornes were a draft analyst, he would actually give balanced feedback

And then he’ll tell u whether or not he thinks the player will make it

But cal and Sheehan just say everyone’s a gun

There’s tens of thousands of kids of draft age playing footy. There’s approx 60 taken in the draft. They pretty much are all ‘guns’. And the top-30 are absolutely gun players … doesn’t mean they’ll pan out to be AFL stars, but every draftee is an underage gun so it’s no wonder they are spoken up as highly talented, because they are. Well … more talented than the 9,940 who aren’t as good as them.

Footy, like life, isn't linear.

We've all played with master sportsmen who would pick up a tennis racquet for the first time and beat the best kid in town, who'd send down 110k-ers as a teenager, and kick six goals from the ruck and no absolutely nothing or had one half-arsed season on an AFL rookie list.

Guy who was a decent footballer as a kid but nothing unreal who suddenly becomes a gun at 17s, gets drafted, plays some AFL, but has a strong WAFL career.

Kid into soccer who never gave two shits about sport. suddenly is playing states and carves out 160 games at two Victorian clubs.

Fella obsessed with getting drafted, never is, then finally is. does nothing at one club then ends up at a premiership player.

I played against Harley Bennell once, too, and he wiped the floor with all of us. he would rove his own ball then kick goals from 60 metres out and then play as a full back when we tried to change our tactics. you can see how he becomes a gun. but those other lads, it was a total lottery.
