I still haven't forgiven Callum or Josh for not taking their fathers' numbers.

They should be ashamed!

They don't have to have same numbers as there Fathers IF They did not want to

It will be so nice to see Callum run out as a senior pie. He is a very nice kid; a credit to his folks. Have to meet the Browns, including Rowdy's dad to see that manners are important in that household. Raised well, of good stock; that kid deserves to do well. Josh too when it's his turn.

You won't die wondering with Rowdy Jnr.

He's an in and under type with very nice evasive skills and a quick first few steps. Hands are very good but at this stage is just an average kick. I think the kicking will improve with experience as he gains more poise.

He's only small but has quite strong thighs and glutes, so I reckon his core is pretty good. Obviously needs to put some size on in his upper body but his old man was the same and by about 21 Gavin was built like an Adonis.

Go Rowdy jnr you good thing!

What's thrown me off is Daicos's decision to take 26 lol I'm all conflicted now.

Think it was his next best option because I doubt the club gave him an option to wear 35 given it wants to keep this stupid "tradition" and Calum said he wanted to forge his own path.

Hopefully someone does an about face when Nick joins the club.

Its better that they dont.

They arent their fathers, and we should stop making links to that.
They are each their own player, and nick (?) Daicos will also be his own.
There is some nice romanticism that they are their fathers sons... but that is where it should end.

That is all it is.

People don't think that if they wear their fathers number that they will magically replicate them as a player.

All it is is a bit of romanticism to see them running around in their dads number - aka tribute to them.

I guess we view that differently.
But i see them holding their number being more than that.
I would much rather the kids just choose their own number and make it clear they are forming their own footballing identity right from the get go.

Why? do you relate Ben Johnson to Gavin Brown? or Prestigiacomo to Daicos senior?

The only difference is their Dads made a name in it and by wearing it they are honouring his name/career.

It has nothing to do with how they will play.

But anyway Brown chose to go down a different path (like you said and forge his own completely separate footy identity) and Daicos was never really given an opportunity to see if he wanted it or not.

I too was worried about his size until I checked - and found he is 10cm taller and 7kg heavier that Caleb Daniel. So if he Callum has elite attributes as many are suggesting his size will not be a problem.

It's funny as that was part of the reasons people didn't want Daicos playing earlier in season, but if you put them side by side they aren't much difference. If anything Daicos is slightly bigger.

*Not suggesting Daics form is worthy of promotion at this time.

Sorry to intrude

Do you guys see Brown staying in the 22 for an extended period or is he just treading water until someone like Elliot returns?

Cheers

I think he's probably treading water. But you never know he could come in and play really well. If he gets 5 games under his belt this year I think everyone will be pretty happy.

Thank you for your assessment :)
