Credit where its due, I thought he had an influence when he came on. Hopefully, he can go on from there. just keep him away from goal - its pointless him being anywhere near them.

Deserving may have been the wrong word. Worthwhile might be more suitable. I don't see any real AFL future with Cal Brown. He's small, terrible by foot, not strong and doesn't have much straight line speed. Lacking in a lot of the traits our midfield needs, like grunt and good ball use.My take:
I'll give you Pendles, Adams and Crisp. They're bloody good footballers.
Don't know how you could have Rantall and Macrae as more deserving.
Sidey, Daics and Bianco play too similarly and have the same exploitable weakness to play together - two of them in there at once is a stretch.
JDG roles the dice too much with his positioning and isn't yet good enough offensively as a mid to make up for his complete lack of defensive coverage.
Sier just stands around too often.
Yesterday, Callum gave us a bit of the energizer bunny around the ball that we lost with Treloar, I hope he gets a couple more games in there to see if he can back up what was a good half of footy.
I don't disagree with any of that. But the midfield cupboard is incredibly bare. The same weaknesses currently also apply to Rantall, and Macrae with the exception of kicking.Deserving may have been the wrong word. Worthwhile might be more suitable. Him having one good half against one of the worst lists in the comp doesn't change my opinion
Giving him a chance in a decimated midfield next week against the inform beasts of Melbourne would be an excellent opportunity.Only thing stopping C. Brown and J. Noble is their size.
They can't stick tackles that an average player would stick 100% of the time.
If an opposition has any kind of momentum then they just bounce straight off them.
They both need at least another 7kg or they will continue to be burdens, both on the field and in terms of stopping a younger player from getting crucial AFL experience.

Over the top from the club.
Plenty of things stop C Brown from been an AFL standard player. can`t kick, can`t tackle, no leg speed. is physically weak .

He's already reasonably well muscled. He can't put on any more weight given his size or he would lose whatever foot speed he has and become less agile.Giving him a chance in a decimated midfield next week against the inform beasts of Melbourne would be an excellent opportunity.
We ain't playing finals. This year is about development now. He ain't a fwd and I totally agree with you re size.
If it gets showed up big time and Oliver and Petracca and others just keep bouncing off him he'll know that hard time in the gym is the only thing that'll further his career.

Calvin's tackling problem has not been size. It's that he over committed and was too often stepped around. He corrected it yesterday and got 7 in half a game. We will see if it is a fluke. He has little future if he can't be a pressure forward with guts, which he has and be able to use his good but too predictable side step to snap goals. He is unlikely to make it but not a certainty either.Plenty of things stop C Brown from been an AFL standard player. can`t kick, can`t tackle, no leg speed. is physically weak .
I am sure he id doing exactly as you say - but that is no reason to shut the thread. This forum is for supporters not players. Everyone has a right within limits to say what they wish. This poor kid is coping a shalaking on here, come on mods, time to give this thread a rest. Cal doesn't appear to be improving at all but is still getting a game, the only thing this thread is achieving is constant sh*t being put on a kid who is trying everything he can to become a senior player
They had multiple injuries over their entire careers. Callums durability helps him get selected

if i recall on Saturday Noble brought the huge TEX to an absolute stop...Only thing stopping C. Brown and J. Noble is their size.

Easily confused.
