I just wanted a general view, regarding the two players.
Both seem to have settled in their respective sides. Which of the two will have a greater impact for their club this season?

Chris Bryan the bang and crash (backup ruckman)
Or Cameron Cloke the (ruck/forward) who can kick goals

Not sure about this season. Cloke is in the better form at the moment and has clearly made considerable improvement. But I really like some of the things I've seen from Bryan. He's a fantastic kick of the footy. One of the best going around. I think in the long run, he will prove to be the better player.

Considering Bryan has only played 1 game of course Cloke is better on form this year. Watched Cloke in the Carlton v Essendon debacle and he tried hard, but looked like the same old battler to me, gets the footy but often makes poor disposal decisions, then again playing for Carlton at the moment doesn't leave much room for mistakes. Appear even, in not having really improved since last year, Bryan can probably be given the benefit of the doubt until he has played a few more games.

Too soon to tell. Wait until the end of the season when the 'new club rush' has worn off. Everyone plays well at a new side because they want to impress. You can't call it at this early stage.

As i have said before, what collingwood should have done is given guy richards for chris bryan, who i reckon is a good bullocking ruckman and kept cam cloke.Cloke and bryan would have been a formidable pair.
Ok Bryan vs cloke.I reckon Bryan is a better all rounder and is a booming kick, cloke lumbers around too much but is also effective.

Forgetting the 'who's better' aspect, I have serious concerns for the longevity of Cloke. He's had a number of shoulder injuries but worse still, a large number of concussions. It doesn't seem to take much of a bump to turn his lights out. It's very unfortunate but I reckon if it happens a couple more times, questions will have to be asked about his playing future.

From his time at Carlton I think Chris Bryan is the better player, however you kept on hearing that he had attitude problems while at the Blues. On the other hand Cloke is less talented but gets the most out of his ability. FWIW I don't think either will be at their respective clubs in five years time.

Both are much better then what they were last year.

Cloke will be a battler for the blues and will try his best

bryan has a lot of skill but is lazy so if he starts being commited he could be a damaging player.

A win for both teams at this stage

C.Cloke was no angel either, he never worked like a Japanese beaver down at pieland, it's funny what a desliting can do. I'd take Bryan's attitude problems with a grain of salt, he spent most of his time working with Barry Mitchell the bullants coach (because he played there a lot) and he isn't allowed to talk to Pagan. There have been no signs of Bryan being lazy at all, granted we haven't seen him train in the preseason because of a knee injury. Let's not forget when comparing the two Bryan is a bit older as he was drafted from the VFL.

Fair enough, I can only talk about what i've seen from him at Carlton.

Currently they are not on speaking terms, however the previous two seasons (when Bryan was at Carlton) Barry Mitchell was not only the Bullants coach, he was also a full-time assistant to Denis Pagan and would sit in the coaches box on matchdays.

Cameron Cloke (all clokes for that matter) can be very good footballers when they don't think and just do. Jason was a great footballer in his first 2 season when he just did without thinking.

I don't know much about Bryan but liked what I saw on ANZAC Day. Big body, did the hard running all day, cleaned up at centre half back and moved forward very well. I can see him fitting into the side with Richards and Josh as a 3rd tall forward spending a few minutes each game in the ruck when needed.

Most of the better ruckman these days being running types he'll need to thrown his body around more and lay some heavy tackles more. Could be a win win for both clubs.

Good to see both playing good footy when their careers were at the crossroads. Still suprised that Jason wasn't picked up as a depth player by any club.

Both blokes are strugglers, nothing special at all

C.Bryan is about as good as S.Mckee, all he is a bloke who is used as a battering ram to try and wear down the oppo rucks so J.Fraser can run over the top of them as the game progresses.

C.Cloke is a battler, he tries hard but isn't up to anything more than a back-up

Both prob wont be around in 2009
